I guess if Reus is out for the start of the cup and in form Poldi isn't a bad replacement.
 
Why is Podolski so good for the national team ???

He's a class player, but I've always felt Wenger doesn't utilise him properly.

Why does he have so many haters is the bigger question. I got berated on this forum a month back for saying Podolski is at worst a bench player who is capable, unlike a lot of the German team, of changing a game by himself. The man is a mercurial player and maybe not the best starting choice, but he's a game changer.

Not sure myself, he's probably one of the most lethal strikers in the box, but at Arsenal, he has to track back more because Gibbs flies forward, so he probably isn't able to make the runs he is able to for Germany. When he has played in a system with 2 strikers, so someone like Giroud next to him, he plays quite good.
 
Lazar Marković looks like a quality player.

Talk about skewing things. I believe you suggested he should be picked and your reasonong was because he had a good left foot. that was your sole reason.

People were not having a go for saying podolski should be in the team in particular, more that for the suggestion that any player should be picked simply because he has a good left foot.

nope. You're full of shit. I made it a point to say his left foot can change a game, which it can. His abilities can change a game.

No you said he should be picked simply because he has a great left foot shot. you said nothing about his abilities.

If you had, then I would have agreed with you, the fact is though you simplyn said he deserves to be picked solely based on being able to hit the ball with his left foot which people rightly disagreed with,
