I wonder why Barca refuse to adress their defense problems with a marquee signing. Mathieu is a good cb, but they should be after the likes of Hummels, or at least higly promisig guys like Doria or Marquinhos.

As for Cech or Courtois, that's a luxury problem if i ever saw one.

Maybe but Cech has been nr 1 goalie since what 2005? Now he has to fight for his place and if he loses, who knows how he reacts.

Once Puyol started to show signs of slowing down/getting injured, why they didnt buy T. Silva from Milan i never know.

I see what you mean, but Cech's always struck me as a classy chap. If he loses the battle, I'd assume that he'll take it well and leave at the end of the season. A bit like Vermaelen did with us.

It happens all of the time, especially with keepers, as it's one of the few positions that don't get rotated.
