This B-Team league idea is a fucking disaster. It's meeting heavy opposition so hopefully it dies a death soon, but to see the FA actively trying to push it is a bit of a disgrace.

Hopefully the idea dies a quick death and Greg Dyke's career follows suit, the knobhead.

Incidentally, if MUFC are planning on spending 200million as reported, would that not fuck them up in FFP? Especially with no Champions League? Has any team ever spent that much in one summer? I suspect that figure is massively exaggerated.

I'm no legal expert but I reckon Utd are pretty much immune to FFP. Presumably they could just blame any negative financial performance on a legit debt which UEFA can't complain about at all since it's clearly unrelated to irresponsible transfer spending. At the same time they can mention they've successfully serviced debts of

I don't think it's a matter of legal knowledge, it's the fact that Manchester United make so much money as a club. I don't think there's a sports team worldwide that produces more revenue than them (last time I read the Forbes list, they were at the top). They'd have to spend so much money in order to go in the red for a year, it will probably never happen.

I expect Utd to sort the manager situation very quickly then sign players all through the window. I guess it will be a fun summer for their fans.

2-1 derby , second time brighton might fail the playoffs

No question signings are happening this window.

Need depth, have money. Simple.

It will be fun window with United, City, Arsenal, Pool, and Chelsea going after it.

I wouldn't count on Arsenal doing much in the transfer window. There's more chance of Spurs spending more money.

Nah, even Wenger still knows he needs a minimum of a striker, DM and RB and plenty money is there. Rumor has it an RB signing might already be set....

You know you can't believe a single 'rumour' around Arsenal until the guy is standing next to Wenger with a shirt on.

Generally true, but there's a guy on twitter who's got legit connections inside AFC and has been reliable in his info for the last couple years.

When asked about Aurier today he said "all i will say for now is i believe AW has the RB sorted. :-)"

lol, seriously!

Until I see a player wearing a shirt and hugging the "gunnersaurus", I don't get my hopes up over rumours!

Geoff. What's he been wrong on? He's talked about stuff that they're working on that then ended up changing (like Higuain) but I dont remember him ever saying "so-and-so is signed for sure" when they weren't

He said, two januarys ago, that Arsenal for sure have signed a player for "50 million" but all we ended up with is Monreal. He's been caught other times as well. None of those twitter guys have a very good record if you really look at it. Geoff still gets too much credit for predicting Cazorla, when all he really did was repeat what was written in Spanish papers at that time. He does a great job of marketing himself though. Have to give him that.

I don't remember that. You have a link?

edit: I remember now.

He said Arsenal BID and it was 30m. Knowing us it was probably for 40m-50m player and that's why nothing ever came of it
