Why isn't the Cormier/Silva a title bout? It's in the champ's weight class, the champ had a full training camp, and it's cringe worthy if Cormier loses tomorrow and is still considered as a champion knowing he was defeated.

Why is the Tate fight now main event? I thought they pushed Brock/Hunt to the main event after Bones bowed out.

Silva didn't make 205, he only got 198.5lbs

The Main Event is a 5 round fight, so Tate vs Nunes as the only title fight is the last one.

So disrespectful lol. Aldo vs Edgar man...im looking foward to that the most.

As far as the non title fight, I would assume it's because it's not fair to ask the Champ to defend against a completely new opponent, as far as the main event switch, something to do with money/marketing/contracts?

Sadly Tate is probably a bigger name / draw then both Aldo and Edgar.
Also at this point in time it is only as interim title fight

Still a title fight, and after Nate Stockton slaps Conors head into another dimension hopefully Edgar can then solidify himself as the undisputed champion.

Don't think you need to be exactly 205 to be considered a title fight - you need to be anywhere in that range.

Super annoying as if Anderson wins, we might get Jones vs Anderson down the line. I think it's just to keep Cormier safe which isn't right.

That can't be reason for not making it a title fight. Light Heavyweight spans from 186-205 lbs. SO if you are in between that weight limit then you are a light heavyweight. This limit was for people fighting in their walking weight.

but now that range became obsolete cause every other fighter is cutting weights. Fighters are trying to make the upper limit of a weight division that made us forget that there is also a lower limit of each & every weight class.

because catchweight is out of the division rankings
dc wanted 210, silva wanted 206

Thanks.

I thought they had to be 205 like Aldo was 145.5 but he had to be 145. Although Miesha was 134.5 and there was no problem with that.

So why isn't it a title fight!?

Because Anderson didn't want to do 5 rounds. As said at the post fight press conference last night. Miesha is the main event because Dana thinks she's earned it but I think it's being used to promote a future Ronda fight honestly. And having 2 non title fights fighting above the 2 title fights would be weird as fuck.

For non-title fights fighters are given a concession of 1 lbs, where you can come up 1 lbs higher than the higher limit, But for title fight you have to make the upper limit.

For example,
non title fight in welterweight division you can come as high as 171 lbs, but for a title fight you have to make that 170 limit.

I look @ it this way, it's a win/win for the UFC as well as the fighters.

DC wins he earns a legacy win over the best MW and striker ever in the UFC who was also undefeated at LHW. So DC is seen as an abustle pound for pound great.

If Anderson wins this is a catch 22 cause he can qualify for the MW or LHW title but why fight DC again for the title after you beat him once? That's weird indeed.

If anything it qualifies him a title shot and rematch with Left Hook Larry in Manchester. Which would be bonkers.
The question is which sells more, Hendo or Anderson for the title? It's difficult cause it could be Hendo last fight so it could be priority over Anderson. Who knows that could be a quite fickle situation
