1st American Cup BJJ May 17, 2008 (hmm will this be big?)

Claudio Franca puts on the US Open, curious if this will be just as big for the Bay Area people.

Thoughts? Are there too many BJJ tournies? Not enough? Too many mini events, not enough large events?

this seems like it will start sorta small and grow into the medium sized tournament that the us open is. claudio runs a very tight ship at the us open and i expect no less at the americas cup. actually to be fair a lot of the hard work is done by one of claudios guys, mike roberts and he does a bang up job getting the tournament going and keeping it on time.

this looks like it will be my first tournament as a purple belt. i look forward to walking out on the mat for the first time under these conditions.
