Media 17 Things UFC Undisputed 3 Does Better Than UFC 4

Yeah loads of things are better about it..
One of the big things for me though is you can't restart fights in career mode, so my pathetic ass ends up having more realistic careers with losses, in UFC3 (I don't have 4 cos it looks awful) I can't resist restarting the fight if it's going poorly, and it has that stupid damage meter so you're kind of persuaded to not take damage in fights.
 
UFC 4 is the first UFC game I didn't get on day one, dating back to the Dreamcast UFC game. It just seemed like a big step down from UFC 3 in so many ways, with a lot of questionable choices in presentation, gameplay, roster, everything.

I can still play Undisputed 3 to this day and enjoy going through a tournament in Pride Mode, it's not perfect, but it's leaps and bounds above the EA series in a lot of ways, even with the EA UFC games having more advanced technology and some good features.

I've put hundreds of hours into the THQ games and the first 3 EA ones.

The EA ones are complete trash in comparison. UD3 just has so many better things about it. Fights actually feel like fights. In EA UFC they feel like a mockery of one. The GNP and grappling in the EA ones are completely stupid. You can see it in that video clear enough.

And EA aren't even trying to make a realistic product now.

1. They spent over a year fine tuning EA UFC 3 in response to community feedback. They finally got the stamina and damage tweaked to something that most people were happy with. It wasn't as realistic as UD3, but they were definitely on the right track.

Then they release EA UFC 4 and for some absolutely stupid reason, they decided to just undo all that tweaking to stamina and damage and make it so you could throw strikes non stop and not gas + eat head kicks non stop. It was a joke.

2. They decided to just pander to the fortnite crowd. The latest one has all these dumb fortnite taunts that you can do, but the devs are so stupid that they only allow them during the part right before the fighting starts when the ref points to each fighter and asks if they're ready. Maybe do this when Bruce is announcing the names instead? Fucking lol.

3. They spent 2 years and the biggest addition they added for EA UFC 4 was two arenas that no one wanted. One is a stupid Mortal Kombat style cave arena and the other is a backyward brawl one. Who the fuck thought that was a good idea? How did the UFC even sign off on this? What part of a backyward brawl setting highlights the UFC in a good light?

They should have added more fighters instead. They only added like an extra 20 or something since the last game. Most divisions don't have all the top contenders.

4. You can wear animal masks and big chain necklaces and other garbage during fights now. That alone should tell you all you need to know about the direction EA are taking their UFC games.

I'd be intrigued to know what the numbers are on sales... With it's approach to attract more casuals I suppose it's likely UFC4 has sold more than any other UFC game, I hope i'm wrong though.
 
4s transitions in clinch and ground game are far better than 3s, that being said they didn't do enough and graphics are somehow the same or worse...

All the UFC games have been shit. Wonky standup with terrible animations.

EA MMA still the GOAT MMA game. The ground game kinda sucked but the striking was amazing compared to the UFC games. Crisp and fluid striking, could have absolute wars in the standup, unlike in UFC games where a Just Bleed fight was impossible because of how easy it is to KO people.
 
UFC Undisputed 3 is so epic, such a deep and solid game.. its the best game in the UFC series by far in my opinion. Yeah the graphics might not be as crisp at the next gen UFC games but I really don't care at all because Gameplay Over Graphics every time for me. Also the graphics are still very good on it regardless.

UFC Undisputed 3 is a 9/10 game, all the next gen EA UFC games are not above 5/10 , and I am not hating on EA because THQ first UFC games UFC Undisputed 2009 and UFC Undisputed 2010 are average too 5/10.

They just hit it home with UFC Undisputed 3, love it

No way, and I've spent the last few months again going through the EA MMA career on the highest difficulty. I've been breathing EA MMA like an autist and its grappling isnt even close to Undisputed's, which I've put 2000 hours into. I'm sad.
