A PS trial lasts like a week or so. They were giving away Photoshop CS2 for the longest time so you may wanna Google that. It's from 2005, so its really old, but probably OK for making still images but not gifs. As @Arqueto said GIMP is good. Heavyweight Champ @Empty Emp uses it.

My friend had photoshop trial on his mac and when the trial was up, he just ignored the pop up message and kept working on his shoops. Didn’t close the message/program or shut down his computer and the PS kept working



Maybe some poor shooper could try that and when @Arqueto wins he could buy you all a copy with the enormous prize money.
