A Muslim community is not a secular society. If "your buddy" doesn't like it, he can move somewhere secular.

That call to prayer is so annoying I live a block away from a bad Mosque and the call to prayer at 5:00 am really disturbs me specially during the time when I work late shifts as I arive at home after work at 1:00am or if I am doing over time 3:00am.

It gets more irritating if you translate the Azan of the muezzin for adhan there is phrase "prayer is better than sleep"
