Media 10 fighters who got away with cheating (MMA ON POINT)

GSP's greasing in the BJ fight

Even though he was likely doing that in all of his fights before that, as multiple opponents (including Hughes) said that he was unusually slippery

The knee landed square in the chest. His upper thigh hit the chin. That's 100% legal.

The rule isn't specific to the knee though. You aren't supposed to kick any part of the head with any part of the leg.

The sole reason that knee is considered legal by fans today is because Yves Lavigne decided not to call it and the commission always sides with the ref. If he had called it for Sonnen we'd have an entirely different version of history. It's one of those things that had never been done before and because there was sort of a grey area the ref made up a rule on the spot.

Did everyone forget kale sonnen pissed hot after the Silva fight and wouldn’t have retained the belt even if he’d avoided the triangle?

Fuck, the selective memory with some of you is disturbing, clinical retardation notwithstanding.

It was the roids coming out of Andy's pores and seeping into Chaels. C'mon son.

I was snooping in my parents room one time and found this sealed envelope, proceeded to open it, and discovered pictures of my mom spreading her clam.

Nice video as usual . Im a big fan of these guys and their lists are always great (Except for the GOAT list)

Some of these sound like they come directly from salty fan's mouths.

The Palhares one in particular. Just pretty much shitting on the guy for holding on to subs too long (not technically cheating since the outcome is the same regardless)

So you're saying Silva hit a grounded opponent in the head with a leg strike?

Legal is a referee's discretion. I've seen Big John blatantly ignore cup shots because the intended attack was shin to thigh and he regarded the foot following through to the cup as insignificant and incidental. Doesn't make groin shots legal. Same applies here. Yves saw the knee go into the chest as intended and ignored the accidental foul, which is 100% a foul, but ignored it, as he judged that the majority of the effect the strike had on Chael was from legal contact and basically overruled the foul. In essence, no one should argue that Chael would have been ok if it didn't hit his face, that's obviously bull shit. But that is still a foul.

It's like when any fighter (Koscheck) gets grazed and starts milking it. Sure, they're full of crap, but that doesn't mean a foul wasn't committed.

Anderson had that fight won. He just had an insignificant foul doing it.

Have you ever been kicked? There's almost no force translated into thigh impact. Everything is the knee and down.

If Goldie and Rogan hadn't gone all derpy talking about the illegal knee, no one would give a fuck.

Right, there's hardly any force, which is why it was ignored. It's still illegal. It's something you can notice regardless of the commentators.

Are you suggesting that if you were attacking a kimura so your body was offset someone on cross side, that you could just repeatedly bring your leg up and down on their face as long as the contact was above the knee? Do you realize how retarded that sounds?

Where's the intent? Are you intending to disrupt the fighter with your leg or is it an incidental byproduct of a different target? Do you accidentally bump the other fighter with your hamstring as you step over?

There are grey areas in this. Anderson was very clearly attacking the solar plexus/chest.

The knee made contact with his chin and the analysts and most of the audience thought it was illegal at the time. Chael himself has confirmed it made contact with his head. The ref changed the rules for him and we've all just kind of accepted it over the years.
It should be illegal to look that trash in a title fight, lay n pray for a round, throw the most hilariously bad strike in mma history, then get wrecked before he can even get back on his feet LMAO

Right, which I completely covered in my reply. A foul doesn't require intent, or eye pokes would almost never get stopped, it's ref discretion.
