Conor lost, we all saw it he faced the more cerebral and all out better fighter and offered up his neck in the second round.

So now we have the same fight at the same weight class and what really changes if we get the same result?

Conor can use the same series of excuses and nothing changes.

BUT if Conor wins, it was a fluke million to one win by Diaz "deez tings happen in mma" and Conor is once again the best thing eva.

This does damage the ufc credibility as a sport instead of entertainment but Dana will swap that to get his precious back to being unbeatable.

EDIT: This is from a UFC perspective. Sports wise its a pile of shit.

The rematch makes sense because I couldn't get funds into my bodog account fast enough to bet on Diaz.

Hopefully the delusional masses bet on McGregor again and I can win some money this time.

Built in excuse and built in audience.
Still hoping it falls through and merit prevails.

Doesn't make sense, Diaz himself should bid for the title. It's a sport, not a Conor McGregor personality cult.

You make a lot of really terrible threads

Best case scenario for me is Diaz finishes McGregor again, and then Frankie runs circles around him and takes his title. Enough is enough, motherfucker!

If Conor wins, it will be so funny to see how all the Nate nuthuggers that run their mouth now will immediately disappear.

The only reason (if) the fight happens is because of ego. Money and more ppv buys is a straw-man of epic proportions. UFC 200 would sell itself with or without Mcgregor as a headliner.

I don't aim to please you.

Which other threads are you talking about just out of interest?

"Conor at -400, BARGAIN!!!!"
"Mir tapped" with a horrible angle gif

Luckily a mod put you out of your misery and deleted the last one at least

yea thast the game - if he wins, he can erase the past and the narrative will be that the prior fight was a joke and not worth mentioning anymore - a fluke - if the ufc wants that narrative to stick, it will be parroted by many here

Lets not pretend like common sense prevails when the potential for $$$ is so high.

OK, so if a win proves the first fight was a fluke, is he willing to prove it with a rubber match and keep the FW division on hold? And if that's a thing, why didn't Aldo get his rematch, or even Mendes for that matter? Those fights were a lot "flukier" than the Diaz fight.

The longer I go without hearing UFC official word the more hope I have that Dana and the powers that be will see having Conor defend his belt for the first time is the bigger sell, win or lose...

what if Diaz comes in at 156 just to say fuck you to conor and still beats him?

Rematch makes no sense. Conor has a belt to defend. If he's healthy and can fight it should be a title fight.
