OK so Conor is now publicizing his case to all kinds of media trying to get leverage with the UFC. He’s doing as much media as he was asked to do by the UFC. The only difference seems to be that he doesn’t have to face Nate while he does this media. It must all be distracting from his all-important cycles of training as much as any press but at least Nate and cameras aren’t present.
Think of the crow he’d eat on that stage. Shit, it’d be a raven, really. Crows don’t come that big. Probably several ravens.
As for him saying he’s not a dancing monkey, do you guys remember one of his “fans” bringing a 6 year old (or so) child to the press conference to ask “Conor what round will you rip Aldo’s head off in?” At a time like that the only sensible answer is “you little asshole, get your young ass back in school; it’s a fucking school day” but Conor ate it up.
If there has ever been a dancing monkey in MMA it’s got to be Conor. And I’m a fan. I like his fighting, like his shtick, like him enough to learn to even accept his borderline ethnic/racist comments when he’s in dancing monkey mode. All the while saying “he’s doing it for the cameras and fame, he’s not serious – it’s just the dance.”
Now that he makes millions off that he turns to us and says he’s not our dancing monkey!! Matter of factly as though we have no reason to expect him to be dancing for us! As though this isn’t a groundbreaking revelation. The same guy walking like a peacock strutting with his arms flailing out at his sides talking about “show me the cash baybehhhh”…. The same guy boasting about men who died making his watch….. the same guy who dismissed every fighter as beneath him or “not on his level” while he brags about his custom suits….. now he is suddenly offended by the idea of being a dancing monkey???!??!?
As a Conor fan who loved his thick skinned persona, and isn’t loving his “hide from Nate” persona, I have to ask:

- Is this what a Stockton Slap does to a confident man?
- Do you feel betrayed when Conor is trying to retire from the “dancing monkey” role he created in the UFC?
- If he does want to retire from that role, is skipping the first press conference where we’d get to see him handle real verbal adversity the best way to do it?
- Do you feel Conor robbed us of a great, epic spectacle in not facing Nate on stage?
