I’m confused here. You said you’ve met a bunch of Indians with good hygiene. Then one day you finally met one with bad hygiene, and you walked away with the conclusion that the stereotype was true?
You understand that for the stereotype to be true it has to be the other way around yeah?
I plainly said in my post you quoted I thought it was a false rumor about Indians, and after that one instance it's not a stereotype based off of my own experience.
But I'm in the Midwest.
The population of Indians here is less than 1%... So I imagine with people who have to see interact with Indians on a regular basis... It may not be an 'internet rumor' for them.
But to clarify, in my own experience of going to one 7-11 it's not enough to conclude the stereotype is true, just that the internet rumor isn't false.
Edit - Would like to reiterate that I used the word 'stench' justifiably. It wasn't just 'bad BO,' the entire interior of the 7-11 reeked, like they hadn't bathed in weeks.
I work around truck drivers and their 'bad BO' is usually from going a few more days than normal from taking a shower. That 7-11 was on a whole different level.
