Oh I probably won't agree that it's funny, but perhaps there was a setup to indicate it was supposed to be a joke.

Regular people and even comedians can attempt to be funny and fail, but let's not bring up Jimmy Kimmel again.

You don't live in Washington DC either but you'd have been happy in Kamala won the Presidential election.

Got it. “I want to rape her to teach her a lesson” is a joke, but not a funny one. There is no set up imaginable that could possibly make it funny. But it’s a joke.

Except we don't know the set up for the 'comedian I'm defending,' only that the Politico article isn't posting the setup to the punchline... Or the entire 2200 page chat log. (Wonder Why)

We only know that the punchline isn't funny, just like Jimmy Kimmel's monologues.

No, not every Indian rarely bathes, but enough rarely bathe that there's a correlation in experience from millions of people noticing the Indians that do rarely bathe that there's a stereotype developed known across the entire world.
Its not an inside joke amongst racist communities.

Practically every Indian I've met had acceptable hygiene.
Then I walked into a 7-11 and noticed a distinct stench. The stench got stronger as I walked closer to the cashier to buy my items.
I left the 7-11 thinking 'okay, so that stereotype isn't just an internet rumor to joke around about like Michelle Obama having a dick.'

I’m confused here. You said you’ve met a bunch of Indians with good hygiene. Then one day you finally met one with bad hygiene, and you walked away with the conclusion that the stereotype was true?

You understand that for the stereotype to be true it has to be the other way around yeah?
