I thought Lonzo was really efficient in this past year and has totally improved his style of play. Some of the passes he made in this past season were Iverson-esque. Maybe better Absolutely jawdropping.
As he's moved away from trying to be the leading man in every category like he was in smaller ponds, it seems like he's adapting to being a specialist, which is great for his career. The thing about all-arounders is that when they dip in any category, they're average. Specialists can afford a slight dip in certain aspects as long as they keep others at a distinguishable level. Franchises know what they want, what they have and where the other pieces can come in.
If Ben Simmons decided to dedicate an increase in his shooting to, let's say, 8 more shots a game, he'd be taking potential points away from his team.
Lonzo's being schemed in as a specialist, so when his FT% is up (Career high I think), his 3PT% is up, it's only a positive. If he were the player he billed himself as and tried to be in LA, those wouldn't really matter much at all.
But yeah, Zion is miles ahead of him. Lonzo's still doing alright for himself though. I think both will have long-term success, just at different levels of notoriety and impact.
