Why Till deserves the next title shot

So what about Till's style makes him beat Woodley unlike Wonderboy?

Wonderboy is a counterstriker who uses mostly head kicks/spinning kicks which leaves him open to the takedown.

He also doesn't keep his hands up and relies on his distance control/moving back in a straight line to avoid shots. He likes to keep a big distance between himself and his opponent and pick them apart from afar. He has holes in his boxing but he is good at controlling distance so we don't see him get hit too often.

Since Woodley is so fast/explosive he was able to close that distance that Wonderboy likes to keep and tag him with the overhand multiple times.

Darren Till is more of a pressure fighter with a Muay Thai style. He will press Woodley and chop him down with round leg kicks/body kicks and will stay in his face with his guard up.

RDA has beaten better opposition and was the champion in the weight below. Beating Robbie is a much bigger deal than beating Cowboy.

Whatever this 'eye test' nonsense is, it's wrong, maybe it just means the TS needs glasses.

And for good measure let’s not forget he beat Cerrone 2x with the last one probably being the worst beating Cerrone ever got.... and he’s gotten his shit pushed in a few times. Different weight class sure but it was for the belt and many expected a competitive fight with a lot of people picking Cerrone to win.

Till is impressive, no doubt, but Usman is the best prospect at WW now. RDA just seems to be the recipient of smart match making and 'right place right time'. Robbie has been on a down turn for sometime now, with most thinking he even lost to a fading Cowboy, and RDA got the benefit of beating a fading legend. IMO, Usman and Till smoke RDA, who has been impressive at WW but definitely has a ceiling.

It's called the eye test and there is precedent for it. Chris Weidman springs to mind. KZ, Cody Garbrandt, and obviously Bisping as well.
I don't care which fighter has 2 or 3 top middling top ten wins. The fighter to beat right now is Till.

I'd prefer the UFC to take it's time building these up-and comers. Giving them time to train at a high level, develop a fan base, etc...I think they are rushing dudes through to the front of the line to capitalize on their early hype and, more often than not, said fighter isn't near ready for the step up in competition and ends up being viewed as nothing but a "hype-job".
