Why did Fedor let Chael get back to his feet?

He comes in and tries to win as fast as possible with sloppy brawling.
On the contrary, Fedor is one of the few MMA guys who can actually throw straight punches as opposed to whopping, curving swings and wild haymakers. In this case, it's like a "how to" regarding the old bare-knuckle adage "a straight punch will always be faster than a curved punch, because a straight line is the shortest distance between two points".

Chael threw not so straight punches, while Fedor's straights just cut in on the inside. Or if you wanna go all Kung Fu about this "moving second but arriving first".
