Who is better at wrestling, Jones or Khabib?

Ask yourself this...

would Khabib go 2/9 in takedowns with less than 2 minutes of top control after 5 rounds against a non wrestler like Dominic Freaking Reyes?

Would Khabib go 1/11 with less than a minute of top control after 5 rounds against a non wrestler like Gus?

End of thread really.

Jones is the infinitely better fighter so who cares?

Infinitely better than a guy who went 29 fights without getting scratched?

It's not even possible to make that claim.

You can claim he's more accomplished but Khabib's career was closer to perfect than anyones.

Khabib never fought anyone.

Khabib never fought anyone.
He destroyed some of the best LW's of all time in their primes and LW is historically the most talent rich division.

And again... you're arguing accomplisments. You can't make the claim that anyone is infinitely better than someone who essentially had a perfect career. Just more accomplished.

Nobody cares about a parrot sentence, give some names ?

What's his best win ? Poirier ?

Poirier is comparable to DC, that's what you mean ? {<jordan}

Maybe if you don't know anything about MMA you think Dustin is Khabib's best win at LW.

It's actually prime RDA who also happens to be one of the best grapplers in the divisions history and Khabib outwrestled him more convincingly than Usman or Colby (and RDA was on the decline when he fought them).

Moving the goalposts because Jon couldn't out wrestle non wrestlers like Gus and Reyes.

Khabib level... right.

{<jordan}

Jones beat DC with striking in both fights not wrestling. Actually in the second fight he didn't even record a takedown and went 0/3.

Here's his wrestling match against an Olympian.

He got beat so bad he had to tweet how humbled he was.

RDA lost to every decent wrestler

I think khabib was great but his career was nowhere near as impressive as Jones. Dude don’t even train and rolled off the couch from a coke bender and still best Gus. What he did to DC twice is incredible. He’s the best I’ve ever seen.

I admit khabib is the LW goat but the guys he had to fight were nowhere near as good as jones’ competition. If khabib had more defenses and moved up and beat an Usman or Colby, you’d have an argument.

MMA wrestling all-time:
1. Jones
2. GSP
3. Khabib

Overall "godness" all-time:
1. Jones
2. GSP
....
....
....
n. Khabib

Do these "he was at a disadvantage due to being on coke bender" stories really overwrite that "he was on ped's and at an advantage" facts?

Jones was a cheat and was gifted 3 decisions.

theyre all on gear and khabib would have lost if he kept fighting and definitely if he moved up

Remember Jones getting gifted 3 decisions and struggling to take down journeymen?

Not even being able to take down a one legged Thiago Santos, Gus or freaking Dominic Reyes? lol

But because he took down grappling white belt Gane he's now Khabib level lol Get real

lol competition is weak.no one can replicate jones succes
but alot can replicate going undefeated against bums and only defending like how many times?

" Ummm achually fallacy!"

Ignore Khabibs weightcut issues more
He's had weight cut issues twice. And one of those times, he didn't even compete. It's incomparable to a man who has failed multiple tests for performance-enhancing drugs, record-breaking eye pokes in the cage, and should've been disqualified for the second time in his UFC career for illegally kneeing Smith.

Jones is without a doubt the biggest cheater we've ever seen in this sport.

Khabib retired nearly 3 years ago with more fights than Jones has now, with no split decisions, no steroids busts, no DQs, no NCs. Khabib has 22 fights in his last 10 years, Jon's had 10 in the last 10 years, and had a 3 year layoff and suspensions.
Khabib has more fights due to fighting low level opponents in Russia at the start of his career.

Ok? He was still more active while he was in the UFC than Jon was during that same time. Khabib signed in 2012 and had 13 fights from then to retiring in 2020. Jon just had his 13th fight since 2012 and it's 2023 now.
