Who is better at wrestling, Jones or Khabib?

Say what? I didn't say better striking meant his wrestling was worse; I was talking overall game, and what benefits fighters in matchups.

Again, fighters could not keep Khabib off of them, and this is mostly not the case with Jon. He is a quality MMA wrestler for sure, but he isn't able to completely dominate with it like Khabib. Fight like Gus 1 and Reyes (and others, just examples) were 100% losses if he was not able to strike, and we can't say that about Khabib.
Jones faced much physically stronger opponents than Khabib. That's why they were harder to hold down.

Well, yes. Jones is strong but lanky so it's impressive he can outwrestle and overpower more strongly built opponents.
That's the whole point though, he COULDN'T outwrestle and overpower many of them. Jon's opponents were stronger because they were bigger, but so is Jon. They aren't proportionally stronger than Khabib's opponents.

He is bigger but lanky so shouldn't very strong for his size.

Jones. Khabib fought a ton of tomatoes cans and ran off and retired before cementing a legacy. Who's to say how dominant his grappling would have looked had he not .

Keep in mind that LW is the hardest div in MMA

Literally every LW champ in history has successfully managed to defend their belts except Eddie and Conor. Eddie lost his to Conor in his 1st defence and Conor never bothered defending. There's also 4 guys tied for record defences in Benson, Khabib, Frankie, and BJ. So in what way is this the hardest division if every champ manages to defend, and often?

LHW meanwhile barely has any champs who managed to defend barring Shamrock, Tito, Chuck, Jones, and DC, and there's a huge difference between Jones and the rest. There's a ton who lost their belts on their first defences. It's clearly the harder division.

Clip of what? Tibau did nothing but stuff a 23 year old Khabib when he was prime and roided to the gills.

He couldn't even hold Khabib down for more than 2 seconds.

Khabib had him pinned against the cage all fight which is why he won all three rounds so he won the wrestling.
Nobody won the wrestling both where nullified, the entire fight was 1 giant stalemate.

Jones outwrestled DC so...I mean in pure grappling it very well might be Khabib but wrestling in terms of MMA? Jones is far, far more proven. You can't argue against this
I can considering he couldn't control DC, Khabib and Islam has controlled and held down very good grapplers and wrestlers

Tibau had a brief moment, where as Jones got taken down by Gus properly. Khabib’s better, for sure.
Bruh Jones had a broken toe when he fought Gus, ( You know, the toe he broke with the bone exposed in which he broke off in the fight with Chael only a few months before he fought Gus ) which affected his ability to defend the takedown and take his opponents down at will like he did before he broke his toe off.

But of course no one ever likes to mention that.

And its retards like this lmao

Number 1: they both have 29 fights.

Number 2. Jones has more title defenses than Khabib has UFC fights total.

Number 3: You're naive af if you think khabib wasnt cheating lol, they all do.
Typical fallacy: I cheat, then I will tell that everybody is cheating and of course X fighter is a cheater with a very solid base: I'm cheating

Khabib / GSP would be closer in terms of who is better at wrestling.

LW at Khabib time was weakest division, with absence of wrestlers and gatekeepers like Poirier, Conor (!), Al and Justin being contenders. Arguably Khabibs best win is Dos Anjos.

This shouldn’t even be a conversation. Look what jones did to wrestlers like:

Rashad
Bader
Hammil
Rampage
Chael
DC

…just DC alone is arguably the best wrestler that LHW/HW has seen in MMA ever and Jones tossed him around.

Dude, look at Anthony Smith, Thiago Santos, and Jan's runs to LHW title shots.

Like 2-3 fight win streaks each. Jan was SDin Jacare 2 fights before winning th blt.

Santos was losing to Dave Branch.

Meanwhile, Michel Prazeres and G-Sot never sniffed TS's with like 8 fight streaks

lololololol

Pretty sure it was almost unanimously considered the most stacked div at that itme

But Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier, two of the best fighters in the UFC now suck because the LW GOAT submitted them and then the leading submission fighter in the UFC followed suit after Khabib gave him the blueprint.

<[analyzed}>

Jones was pretty much unanimously considered at the bottom of the top 5 behind Khabib, GSP, Hughes (and even Cain, Couture, CCC, and Brock) before he beat Gane and he still is afterwards.
