For my gangster rappers, i goto-
Anyone from Bone Thugs
Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E., Eminem, and John Cena.
These guys are gangsters?
Their real name's Clarence
Eminem is probably the best of all time followed by Easy E (his solo stuff was better than Dre's or Ice Cube's) and Shock G. Honorable mention to MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice (their hits were few, but they had some really good ones).
/endthread. Everyone else bows down in homage.
Lil Boosie is the only real gangsta.
Say no all you want. All main stream gangsta rap traces its lineage back to NWA. Schoolly D and Ice T were first. NWA made it palatable.
Woodie-- Yoc influenced,Demons in my sleep, and the northern exposure series are amazing
Sir Dyno-- humanoid the darkroom fam
Black american artists
brotha lynch hung
Project pat-- old school pat and three six was different
Smif-n-wesson-- both dudes were dope but i prefer ruck (rip)
I put Dr. Dre and Puff Daddy at about the same level. I can’t believe he got so many votes.
They aren't gangsta rap but they aren't pussies.
Dre produced gangsta rap and was instrumental in it.
Puffy stabbed someone and if the recent evidence is true(which it looks like it could be) Puffy might've been trying to kill Pac and Suge.
That would be in the gangsta realm
Eminem's not gangsta rap, but neither are Puffy, Public Enemy and anybody from Wu-Tang.
Gangsta rap is basically a West Coast thing and to a lesser extent Southern/Midwestern. On the East Coast you had hardcore hip hop, in the Midwest you had horrorcore, etc. DMX is hardcore hip hop/horrorcore.
Cypress Hill isn't really gangsta either. But whatever, right?
They're bloods. At least some of them are.
Tupac, Biggie and Spice 1. How did you forget about Spice 1 @Agent Mulder's Hair ?
