LD in Curb is much different to George . Not only LD says so it's obvious. LD is confident to a fault, always confronts people while George is the exact opposite. LD is a narcissistic unemphatic cold manipulator doing power moves all the time. George is a neurotic insecure self centered manlet faking it through life. Both are great ( well curb the last two seasons was criminal bad). George is more a Woody Allen type of guy, LD is something entirely different. They did take Jerry out in curb, and we were left with george. And George was my fav character. The difference is “george” is now married at least, and has a career.
A show just about George, or any other side character, would never have lasted, or would not have went anywhere. Jerry was the glue.
Regarding Seinfeld. Just watch his old stand up. It's horrible to out it mild. Cheesy unimaginative boring. But in Seinfeld he really grew into his role and imo by season 3 his acting was fine and his character instrumental. But I will never believe that one sophisticated joke was written by Seinfeld. He just doesn't have that talent
