Do you honestly believe that Conor was as good as he has ever been vs. Khabib?

Try to stay unbiased.

Poll please!

Conor prime ended 15 seconds into the fight when Khabib easily took him down and gassed him.

He always looks like shit when he's gassed.

Probably not since he hasn't fought in forever and focused on boxing for a long time. Outcome would have been the same either way though. No one at lightweight can stop khabib's takedowns

Only blind haters(and there are MANY) would say that slow, rusty looking man that showed up was “prime” Conor.

Yes... Khabib does the same to every version of McGregor, just a terrible matchup and simply a superior mma fighter. Conor's TDD and defensive grappling looked way better than it ever has.

Dude's 30 with under 10 ufc fights.

What a stupid question.

What? If not then he peaked, and declined extremely early.

He just lost a fight, still in his prime. Why wouldn't he be?

nope u know those lighter weight class guys burn out much quicker and he's been fighting for ten years had that terrible knee injury, cuts too much weight, is a father and that always makes you a worse fighter
plus conor just game off a punishing loss to floyd mayweather - only man i've ever seen who was stopped standing without even getting a knockdown

He is in his prime but he had ring rust for sure. Still, its not like the fight was a close decision. It was a str8 up mauling. Even if he shakes off that rust his lack of wresslin, bjj and conditioning will give him a huge disadvantage against Khabib.

You can shake off dat ring rust within a year but you cannot learn bjj and wresslin that quickly.

It's really simple. No matter how much you love fighting, it's not possible to keep that same fire and hunger when you have a family and 100 million in the bank.

Training and fighting, taking brain damage vs sleeping on silk sheets, eating the finest food the world has to offer with personal chefs, traveling wherever you want whenever you want, partying, etc etc....

Conor has accomplished all his goals and then some. Not easy to work up the motivation to get up at 6am and do 3 hours of roadwork.

Inb4 LOL OMG NUTHUGGER EXCUSES

i don't think he looked as good as he's ever looked but $100 million dollars and a bad match up will do that to you. honestly, i don't see how he closes the gap with khabib and i'd like to see him move on and take a couple super fights and retire.

he better hope so or his best days are behind him.

Same age as khabib, almost the same amount of pro fights.

No excuses.

Khabib dove like 10 feet across the cage and grabbed him 15 seconds into the fight. Conor actually defended that takedown for a good 30 seconds

no previous verision of Conor would have stopped that takedown. He got taken down way easier by Mendes. If anything his TDD has improved tremendously.

Khabib and Conor are both 30 years old.

Khabib has had 27 MMA fights to Conor's 25.

Please stop with the excuses. Khabib is just a stylistic nightmare for Conor.
