If you are a Charter/Spectrum customer affected by their company removing our channels from their line-up without notice to you or us on Friday, this message is for you.

The facts are, Charter/Spectrum refused to negotiate with our company, pulled our stations off their systems, turned on their corporate public relations machine, and began spreading lies about our company. You can choose to believe whoever or whatever you want, but take a moment to contemplate the source.

Spectrum states they want a “fair deal” and they are fighting for you. That’s interesting coming from a company that charges nearly $4 for a channel guide that every other provider on the planet includes in their package, and they recently raised their rates unannounced and their customers whom we’re speaking to repeatedly tell us how horrible their service is.

Trying to keep the cost down is what they are saying-really? They recently paid their CEO Tom Rutledge a $98,500,000 bonus (yes $98.5 million) to stay on the job until 2021, while last year their employees went on strike trying to get a raise.

Spectrum has no respect for their customers because they are using you and the rest of their subscribers as pawns hoping you will assist them in negotiating with Northwest.

I am watching a documentary on the Oklahoma City bombing. I never really dipped into the details of this case. As soon as it happened the media and government said it was almost certainly an attack from the Middle East. It had "Middle East written all over it" as somebody said. That was the initial narrative. Then somebody said look at the date. And people were like "What? What does that have to do with anything?" It was the anniversary of Waco. This was after they raided apartments of Arabs.

McVeigh, Bin Laden and his crew and Unabomber were all symbolic in what they did. Investigators thought that Unabomber randomly killed people. He was targeting a wide variety of fields that are involved in technology. You can see his ideology in his attacks. They couldn't connect the dots though.

This has become like a "today i learned" thread for me.

I am watching Waco next. Don't know the full story on that either. Already watched Ruby Ridge.

And fucking aww. That was actually a special moment for me. I was pretty close to a down syndrome kid growing up. Dude was always happy, and a joy to be around.

I was a little emotional cunt of a kid, seeing handicapped people made me sob as a child, I remember giving up on God at a pretty young age when some teenagers were teasing a severely handicapped kid at the mall and I launched at them in a fit of rage... And got my ass beaaaaat.

I've noticed that a lot of people I agree with/admire I initially hate them. Like George Carlin. Couldn't stand his pompous, cynical ass and people posting videos of him all the time. Annoyed me. But I turned around. Neil Degrasse Tyson is also a guy I recently turned around on it. Couldnt stand that douche.

I don't think I have ever liked a song the first time I heard it. At no time did I hear a song the first time and be like, "this is some good shit!" It has to sink into me.

No, youtube actually. I think it is PBS documentary. You can find a lot of great documentaries on youtube. And just learn some stuff in general. Like these crash courses. I have no interest in the computer field but I am curious as to how they work and evolve. What i find fascinating about computers is that we are transplanting logic into a machine. We are transplanting our brains. It is weird. Skinner said that the question is not whether machines think, but whether men do. The mystery surrounding a thinking machine already surrounds a thinking man.

And I think that is true. If we make good AI, all we are doing is reflecting ourselves back at us. Making things in our own image. They are just reflections. They won't tell us about the real nature of thought. We are just kicking the can down the road.

Altered Carbon is a good show I just started watching.

This is a rule of mine. I don't watch any of this stuff from conspiracy channels. I watch it from places like BBC and PBS. I trust PBS I guess. Nobody is perfect but they cover topics in documentaries in a way that is less slanted than most or all other sources.

Like I would never learn about the Federal Reserve from gold standard people on Youtube. lol. I want to actually know the truth.

One of the main things Marx got wrong. He overestimated humanity. He thought humans were better than that. Sure, guys like Trump exist but the average person would not sell their soul for money. But they actually would. He is wrong there.
