Video: Kevin Lee bites his own glove to set up Chiesa choke.

It really serves no purpose in that case. Chiesa didn't have either hand on the choking arm and prior to the "bite" there was no second grip supporting the choking arm. It's a technique that sounds cool but has little tactical value. In the event where someone is really trying to pry the arm off, biting your glove is going to make very little difference.

Is that legal? If so, a helluva slick (and quick) maneuver.

Never happened.

I just watched it again. On the actual live broadcast, it's a lot easier to get a clear view of the situation, that's why I took the pic.

What it looks like he's actually doing is...he presses the back of his hand against his face so as to not lose position as he takes his left hand off the cage.

He bit him again after that that's when he ripped the top piece of the ear out. You can see him spit the mouth piece out before he bites evander.

Edit: I was wrong he never puts his mouth piece back in between rounds. You can hear the announcer say tyson forgot to put in his mouth piece.

Chiesa went full retard posting on the mat while having an arm wrapped around his neck.

It was weird seeing a back specialist make such a mistake. Even Lee was surprised about his lack of defense.
