Depends on what Francis is up to. Post specific boxing training for a long period McGregor was a much worse MMA fighter than the pre boxing version.

It depends when they fight. Francis is close to aging out. Nemkov isn't really a big HW. He will probably be the smallest opponent Francis fought. I think Francis launches him if he hits him. Vadim likes to get close and exchange in the pocket. I don't see Francis losing in that type of exchange against a smaller guy since his chin is pretty good. They are both explosive on their feet but one guy is much larger and more powerful.

Francis doesn't really have an issue when it comes to body locks and takedowns from the clinch. I don't want to bash Nemkov and say he isn't technical enough but he relies on being explosive to get the takedown. It is hard to outmuscle Francis without being a big person. You need to wear Francis out in order to be effective against him. Vadim is a much better fighter than Francis but he doesn't have the size to compete.

It's going to be very hard for a 245lbs fighter to wrestle Ngannou. The strength gap will be huge, the skill gap not that much, and you have to close the 83" reach death zone to get gim.

Stipe did it and was 246. Older and further away Ngannou gets from mma while someone as well rounded as Nemkov could do the same thing. Sure he could also get his head knocked off too.

He was only able when Ngannou was totally gassed because he completely mismanaged both his preparation and his fight. Early in the fight, he struggled to take him or keep him down . And that was before Ngannou trained at Xtreme Couture, he is a totally different athlete now.

He's also older, doing mostly boxing and Nemkov is a well rounded prime fighter.

We must not have been watching the same fight because Miocic bodied Ngannou in every conceivable way in that first round - and for the entire fight.

And lol people act like Ngannou never grappled before the Miocic fight; where, if you watch some of his previous fights you realize he not only was difficult to take down and keep down but had reasonable submission skills.

You're right you must not have watched the right fight.
Stipe landed 2 TDs for 5 attempts in the first round. 6 of 14 in the entire fight. That's not precisely taking down at will.
After the first TD, Ngannou just brute forced his way up, pretty easily. Then he was totally gassed and the fight was very one sided.

And in the last round Stipe could not take him down at all because he too was so tired.
