UFC Performance Institute, is it a Conflict of Interest? Should UFC interfere in outcomes?

Both come into play bur it's more of the latter. They have an ironfist on the industry, and they aren't afraid to remind everyone.
Yup.

But u know, all of a sudden Bellator is picking up steam. I'm back to watching Bellator events. That's because outside of Khabib VS Tony... and DC vs Stipe... there's nothing exciting going on in the UFC right now.

The UFC's arrogance is Bellator's opportunity.

that's all that thing was built for .. The big sale !! UFC was pushed as a new sport .. Hollywood got suckered out of 4 billion and Dana and tittas laugh to the bank..

all they want it for is to collect data and sell it ..

So you are completely dismissing that UFC is now worth $5b (evaluation & shares sold 9/17) & they just had their biggest profit year by far?

Kill UFC for shitty MMA choices, but making it seem like a bad deal is silly

Also UFC were not sold to Hollywood
WME does not even own 50% (as of 9/17)
The owners outside of WME are worth a combined $80b

The whole structure of the UFC is one massive conflict of interest.

A private company that exists for profit only is handing out titles, controls the rankings and matchmaking.

That would never happen in any serious sport.

Imagine if UEFA owned European football like UFC owns the fighters and the competition and then made matches based on which clubs are more marketable. Nobody would watch it, it's only the UFC fans that are interested in such shit capitalistic ownership of a sport.

Like they're doing in the Champions League?

Sure even seeing someone every day you're gonna build a relationship and be first in Dana's mind on fight decisions, promotion and whatnot.

If I were a fighter I'd move to Vegas and be there everyday.

UEFA is not a private corporation that exists only for profit and Champions League is just a tournament. The clubs that participate in it are decided by results in their national competitions. There is a very clear structure regarding the rankings and tournament format and it's not designed to make the most profit but to ensure that it is the most competitive.

If the Champions League was run like the UFC they would just pick clubs like Milan, Arsenal and Inter to play in it regardless of how badly they did in their national championships last year just because they're marketable. "The fans wanted this match", "it's the big money football game"...

They are known for their corruption.

Also, Milan and Inter are not what they once were. Marketing and sports wise.

They are known for their corruption.

What is corruption in UEFA is standard procedure in the UFC.

When UEFA is trying to influence things to make more money it's called corruption. When the UFC does it, the fans applaud it as "good business decisions".

UFC basically legalized what is called corruption in other sports.

Same here if MLB made Yankee's Dodgers world series ever year because those are two largest markets regardless of other teams performances.

I think of UFC more like pro wrestling in that personalities get the rub a bit more, and more shots at gold, it's just not fixed which kinda sucks for them because it's hard to have long reigning champs to build a following.

I don't get your point here, a facility open to all fighters helps them make weight and train better = better fighters and fights overall its just smart. Your examples of favourism are 3 losers and conner is supposed to be training back in Ireland right now for his comeback so obviously he was thrilled with the Performance Int help.

It's pretty cool having a quality facility free for everyone, but at the end of the day fighting is about training partners and coaches.

Haven't y'all suckers seen Rocky before?

Matt Brown made an issue out of this when the UFC paid for Kelvin's nutritionist.

That was preferential treatment, but have some sympathy. That situation was the equivalent of a business partner paying for substance abuse rehab.

wme and Hollywood both sunk their pockets into the over evaluated ufc ..

i dont buy the UFC being worth 5 billion at all

how is it profit when you haven't made the 4 billion back ?

and who gives two fucks what Hollywood actors and Abu Dhabi is worth ?

Dana favored Francis because of the money Dana thought he could make off him. In all honesty, if Francis had a real camp(not the UFCPI) he would've had a better outcome. TPI is basically for poor fighters that can't afford real coaching. It might change in the future, but without high level coaching it's just a glorified Planet Fitness.
I just figured it was a great way for foreign fighters and their team to have a place to train when they get to the states before a fight.

You are not versed on this at all
Your third line is proof

No biggie, most aren't

So you don't have to "buy" what UFC is worth. But the fact is, it was worth $5b in September 2017 & they just had a $300+ EBITDA year

Also, the owners that are over $80b in worth are neither Hollywood or Abu Dhabi
They are some of the top investment companies there are.
You don't even know who owns UFC ;)
