Fighters draw more if there is emotion attached to the outcome of their fights. Love or hate both work. Hate actually works better. Yes it's a cherry on top if they're good fighters with exciting styles but it's the personality that sells the most by far. So here's the idea. Have a reality show based in the Apex. Have the fighters come in spend some time there together (working out, playing cards, drinking whatever) Give them a platform to showcase their personalities. Yes it kinda would be like TUF without fights but with ranked fighters instead of rookies. Currently the only way casual fans get to experience a fighter's personality is via a press conference or 20 second post fight interview. The key to this is to come up with a really good idea for a show and promote the $hit out of it so people watch and get to know the fighters and be invested in their careers which means they will pay to watch them.

They don't want to create stars. As far as they're concerned, the UFC is the star of the show. If fighters are able to individualize themselves, they'll have more leverage in contract negotiations and the UFC hates the idea of that.

Why is always trolls with the word 'Trump" as their username that think they have all the answers to UFC's apparent 'problem'?

white belt troll thread..... shocker...
and not the good kind...

The way that you increase the talent pool and eventually have stars/better fighters is to increase pay.

Correct

Actually it's marketing genius. Murrkan obese population is growing exponentially and is going to get protected victim status it seems. You are going to boost your sales by appealing to them plus fund managers are going to up your stock because you ll get diversity points for ESG purposes.

Sounds a bit dystopian buf it's not that absurd.

They learned their lesson with Conor. I don’t think we’ll see them allow another fighter get that big and go box and shit.

Contrast that to PRIDE where every major fighter felt like a Street Fighter character and the show was kind of built around that aesthetic

It could easily be called "UFC - Hangin' With Da Boyz". I approve.

There have been very few fighters who are above the UFC brand historically; Ronda, Conor and Brock, that is it

The UFC is about the fighters, bruh, they never tried to strong arm anyone. Dana didn't create 3 reality shows to make it about him either. He might have been in every single episode of every show, but that's just Dana giving moral support.

I'm also sure that Dana walks.into events side by side with Trump and Kid Rock because he's trying to show them to their seats, has nothing to do with his self centered ego.
