My memory is a bit fuzzy but wasn't that the same situation for Holloway/Pettis? From what I recall, neither was champ at the time.

Hopefully Rockhold doesn't lose his chance at the IC because of Yoel's screw up

Yeah, I think you're right. So if Yoel can't make weight, Luke can still with the belt.

Can't the UFC just give someone a belt without them even winning a fight if they want to do it? Not sure how they could deny Luke of the belt if he wins.
