You don't need to believe you are better than everyone. In fact, that's not a sensible approach at all. Having a realistic view of your own capabilities as well as those of your opponents is the best.
What have you succeeded at in life by deluding yourself as to your skills?

(1) In fighting, you MUST, because you are going toe-to-toe with another human being. You must believe that when every variable is accounted for, you have the best probability of winning any fight.

(2) Tyron's belief is realistic. He has one punch KO power. He is a good wrestler and trains with Ben Askren (arguably the best Greco wrestler in MMA). He is very strong. He broke Carlos Condit. He has been TKO'd and bounced back to become UFC Champion in one of the toughest divisions.

So, his belief is well founded, and he is being realistic by saying he has to go out there and "prove it."

The guy has the evidence to support his belief, now he has to prove it, like he knows he has to.

He has a total of 3 losses, and his last loss was 3 years ago. Rory, Shields and Marquardt are all top tier fighters. There is nothing embarrassing about losing to any of them.
