Trump is asking Congress to approve 20% tax on all imports from Mexico to pay for The Wall

God you're an idiot. This means US consumers pay the tariff and by consumers I also mean US companies that get components of products from Mexico.

It's as if there's no one in that businessman first cabinet that even gets economics.

Maybe if you have pleb tier taste and actually buy Mexican shit

What a joke.

I thought you Right wing pussies were for Free Trade....Taxes like these, is direct government control.

Also, you people are gonna pay for the taxes...

When you buy those expensive ass avocados, blame trump.

If they were to tax my cars based in mexico at 20% we would have to lay off many of our american workers in American plants to maintain our profit margins.

It's amazing how much these people don't understand economics. If you make imports more expensive than domestic products, people will buy domestic products. There are 300 million people in America and plenty of farm land. There's no reason to buy corn tortillas from Mexico, you have more corn in America than they do in Mexico. Start a tortilla company.

The US consumer would still end up paying more than they did when they bought the pre-tariff Mexican corn.

The bold, especially (if we're talking about common Mexican products).

Mexico actually buys corn from the US not the other way around.

And you are the one that doesnt understand economics, if you protect an specific industry you promote that industry inefficiency which in turns makes the industry less and less competitive which requires further tariffs to keep it afloat.

Hahaha not only do leftists keep losing but they also keep getting proven wrong. What was that you were saying about him being all talk and conning us?

Agreed, corporate officers might have to sell their fourth houses and their second speed boats.

Mexican beer is shit. A 12 of Corona in Canada is 30 fucking dollars and idiots still buy it. You guys always say you want to be more like Canada, welcome to the club. A 6 pack of budweiser is $14 here for christ's sake.

Or they will lose marketshare to foreign automakers.

Jesus Christ, I've never seen so much bitching about a wall that is going to cover 4 US states. We gave Iran 10 Billion dollars alone but suddenly the "We want free healthcare and college" is complaining about costs.

Quit repeating that lie. Murica unfroze 10 billion dollars worth of Iranian assets stored in US. The money belong to Iran all along, so you didn't give them shit.

Why should we. who have done our jobs well suffer because somebody somewhere wants a wall? Make FCA pay for the wall with GM, they took bail out money.

10 billion? Even if that number was actually true the money we paid them was for a debt we owed. Not like how we hand the Pakistanis or the Israelies billions every single year. I.E. There are far more things that are ongoing to be mad about

That what they said when they gave Iran $400 million to claim it wasn't a ransom until they had to admit later the money was for hostage, now Iran is using that money to buy Uranium. But hey, it was their money anyway, no problem with 10 billion for that.

Sad thing is that congress would give Trump that money if he asked for it.

He should had let that one slide, like the #draintheswamp slided. Now he made a huge fuzz and cant back down.
