My gf is from Bulgaria and she's having a hard time with her status, she's currently working at two restaurants and she's on track to make 80k annually, she has a masters degree and is an incredibly hard worker. The thought that she would just stop pursuing her goals because it was 'difficult' is laughable(she rather walk 4-5 miles than spend the $15-$19 on an Uber when she makes at least $200 in tips at that job). My wife was too far along getting citizenship when we got married so did it via skilled migration (accountant) and we didnt bother going for a spouse visa.

Wish that cost $4,000 and took a year. Was about double.
