To the adults in the room: Things you LIKE about Donald Trump

My momma taught be to always look for good in people. We all know that Donald J. Trump is incompetent, corrupt, stupid, dishonest, and immature, but what do you like about him? Obviously, there isn't much to like from a policy perspective unless ethno-nationalism is your only issue of concern. But I think there are some cool things about him personally.

For me:

(1) His eating habits

I absolutely hate open classism in the area of eating habits, and like the fact that Donald Trump isn't one of those caviar and sorbet type of rich guys. The guy eats McDonald's and KFC constantly and, during the entirety of his celebrity life, has eaten and produced in his restaurants relatively normie people-type foods like burgers, tacos, and steaks that were probably made of intestinal and dick meat.

(2) Lack of fashion style

Fashion is fucking stupid and, although I'll admit fashionable people sometimes look nicer than unfashionable people, it bears absolutely no reflection on a person besides reflecting their wealth, amount of spare time, and vanity. Trump's extra-long ties look objectively stupid to me, but who cares? Trump may just be a secret Bolshevik.

(3) Name

With the name "Donald J. Trump," he could have easily decided to go by "D.J.," which is an objectively douchey name. I credit him for not doing that.

(4) His social media grammar

Despite his tweets being incredibly immature, stupid, and poorly thought, I do notice that he seems to have decent grammatical skills and usually uses comma correctly.

(5) Sitting posture

When he sits in chairs, he tends to hunch over and put his arms on his knees/thighs, which makes him look like he's taking a shit, which I find to be hilarious.
I don't like him, but I respect and believe him.

I've said this before and I'll say it again - he comes up with the best nicknames for political rivals.

Really?

I think his nicknames are terribly stupid, childish, and unintelligent.

"Low Energy Jeb" is the only funny one, and I'm pretty sure his fans on Twitter came up with that one.

I don't like him, but I respect and believe him.

This is (a lot) stranger than liking him, considering how often he lies about things that you can very easily verify are not true (tax cuts for the poor and tax hikes for the rich, never supported Libya/Iraq, never met Putin) or have no evidentiary support (Obama wiretaps, 3 million undocumented voters).

Strong personality, charisma, work ethic, humour, confidence, competence. Basically everything you look for in a strong leader.

Mostly I respect him for his masterful campaigning and I loved how he engaged with middle America and energized them. Trump's election victory really felt like a grass roots effort achieving their goals through hard work and discipline.

  • Easily #1 is his tough position and willingness to confront China on their gross IP abuse, and certain trade imbalances (such as car tariffs)
  • Finishing off ISIS-- for the most part
  • Generally, his judicial appointments
  • The reduction of the corporate tax rate to 21% to entice headquartering back to American shores, and his willingness to shrink government. He's also consciously chosen to leave many posts in government unfilled because he believes, simply, that we can do more with less, and I agree (unfortunately he married these ideas to a tax plan and first budget that render them completely meaningless because we're spending bigger than liberal governments, anyway)
  • Betsy DeVos's commitment to expanding Charter School options
  • The fact that he is willing to openly chastise the UN for their incessant and hypocritical anti-Israeli grandstanding
  • The fact that he is shaming NATO nations that don't meet their spending obligations, and seeking to catalyze change, there
  • His support for American sovereignty and the notion that Americans have a right to dictate who enters their country (the same as everyone else); his pushback against "sanctuary laws"
  • Granting the Keystone Pipeline access
  • His proportional response to Cuban hostility toward our diplomats with that sonic device
  • His toughness on gangs (this is a big deal for Californians)
Donald Trump will break China I am telling you no other US head in recent years has called out China like that.

  • Fucking pornstars while his wife is pregnant.
  • Screwing over the people who believed in him most by conning them out of money with scams like Trump U
  • Dishonest on a historic level
  • Employing henchmen and goons to put his resources to work like a swamp monster or mafioso (take your pick)
  • Appalling lack of general knowledge
  • Cartoonishly litigious
  • Disrespectful; a penchant for brutish, childish insults in public forum
  • Extremely insecure; literally pretends to be other people on the phone to lie about himself to impress people
  • Unwilling to be transparent (as with tax returns)
  • Phony; pretends to be a Christian, but can't quote a single Bible verse offhand
I do not understand how anyone could possibly make a pro-Trump argument based in character with a straight face.

That was Jeb.

I like how he's about to expose the corruption plaguing Washington

starting with his own

Sorry, but no. Not one thing. I'll leave it at that.

I don't think he shits his pants? Yet

So you still don't think he'd be a better Canadian leader than Trudeau? And here I thought you were coming around.

You like to insult people around here. How do you rate your own creativity and ability to get your opinion to stick? Maybe you could get paid to be his Twitter consultant. Probably pays better than commie law student. Which gets you better pussy is a matter of taste.

I enjoyed how he decimated seasoned republican politicians, politicians with impressive academic achievements and more experienced debaters!

I think it is a great move to circumvent media and how media in general filter statements and news to fit their narrative and agenda by using Twitter! If he only was more consistent and didn’t flip flop as much...

He put a spotlight on the cockroaches. The GOP/DNC/Media/FBI and everyone else was exposed for the corrupt pieces of shit that they are.

NOBODY, and I mean nobody, is working for the American people.

I like that he is fairly honest about who he is and what he is.

I like that he exposes his supporters who are willing to excuse EVERYTHING he says or does but who would have lynched Obama if they could if he had pulled a tenth of the shit that he has pulled for the craven dishonest hypocrites that they are.

I respect that he won the 2016 election against an opponent who had almost every advantage going in.

I like that his election shook up the status quo and that there is no going back to complacency.

He has a hot wife.
He made CNN his bitch.
He has a hot daughter.
Other than that I can't stand him.

“We all know...”? Why do fully grown adults continue to form arguments like children?

The thing I like about Trump is that his election made me see how fanatical and irrational people on the left can be. I had no idea it could reach this level.

1 - I think that he genuinely has his family’s back come hell or high water.
