Mostly I respect him for his masterful campaigning and I loved how he engaged with middle America and energized them. Trump's election victory really felt like a grass roots effort achieving their goals through hard work and discipline.

Competence? Definitely not a word I would use to describe Trump.

He is woefully ignorant of most global issues, and caters to the lowest common denominator by fostering anti-intellectual sentiment.

I will concede that he galvinized middle class white America by speaking about issues that would have previously been taboo or politically incorrect. He has constructed a narrative of "Us vs. Them" - immigrants are causing crime, other countries are exploiting America's economic interests etc.

There is a quote by Lyndon Johnson that summarizes the Trump platform perfectly ""If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you."

Trump has directly had very little impact on the performance of the stock market - yes, he gives tax cuts to large corporations, but at the end of the day, the corrolary between stock market performance and political policy is tenuous at best. By that logic, Clinton was responsible for one of the longest bull markets in history, and Obama saved America from the great recession (when he was elected in 08, the stock market was in a tailspin). Neither of those things were specifically attributable to presidents (although Obama did approve the national stimulus plan), and neither is today's stock market.

If Trump actually does pull out of NAFTA and starts a trade war with China, the stock market will be fucked good and proper. Those are definitely policies that affect stock market performance.

It’s a shame reality disagrees. After trump won the nomination, the economy skyrocketed. Just yesterday I posted well over a hundred billion in investments in the US in the first several months alone.

Hmm, I wonder why those investments didn’t happen under obama? Oh that’s right, buisiness had zero confidence in him. The threat of them waking up to a new tax or regulation prevented obama from ever reaching a truly strong economy.

I don't think anyone really thinks that. The economy was doing very well before he took office, and it's continued along the same trajectory, with a slight slowdown.

Except, as per the recent Supreme Court decision, he has ramped up actions against legal immigrants. But guys like you don't care about that.

Also, he has sought to, and successfully, curtail legal immigration.

Hasn’t been it yet has it? Well then. One thing I know is we’ve never had a president who had sex with someone before. Certainly not one who slept with a drug addict actress. Even if we did we wouldn’t ever put them on our money to commemorate them.

I don't care about Trump banging porn stars. I don't think anyone, other than senior citizen Christian types, really do. It's completely consistent with his persona. Had Obama done it, I would have been disappointed in him, in that it showed poor judgment, poor association, and suspect morality in cheating on his wife. But it still wouldn't effect the credibility of his policies.

But you're backtracking from the undeniable fact that you were wrong about: Trump is further policy that affects legal immigrants as well as undocumented ones.
