Until this commission and their doctors study up on the sport and the cuts/damages that are common this is pointless... We constantly see fights after fights just pure stupidity happening in the cage and its always during NY/NJ cards.

How do you stop this fight with 2 minutes left when hes been bleeding like that the entire 5th round.... Especially after he defended the fucking takedown rofl.... Thats not even anything special in terms of damage.... A swollen cut eye? Thats like every fucking fight ever that has damage involved...especially over 5 fucking rounds....

This commission and its doctors are terrible, not watching any of the NY/NJ cards again, this is horse shit.

Learn the system, train your guys, then maybe, right now its like no one knows what to do as soon as a fighter starts bleeding everyone gets scared.

You are judging this based on the wrong criteria, which is why you continue to be necessarily frustrated. It does not matter how well Barboza was performing at the time of the stoppage. Doctors aren't called in to consider the momentum of the fight or any of that, but simply to examine the physical condition of the fighter. They found that his eyes were swollen shut and that the fight couldn't continue. It wasn't a difficult decision and it need not be controversial.

It was an entirely sensible stoppage.

The fight should've been called between rounds. If his eye was swollen shut during the 5th, it was swollen before, which is when the fight should've been stopped.

The fuck were you watching? He got lit up by punches in spite of stuffing the TDs. The shots that Lee landed in the fifth caused the damage on Barboza's face to worsen to the point that the stoppage was warranted.

Here's a screen grab of Barboza at the beginning of the fifth. There's clearly less damage than there was at the time of the stoppage.

Now go post the pic of him just after they wiped his face with a towel.... It will be almost same shit... All you did here was prove that neither one of his eyes were completly shut and that he was more then fight and should have been fighting, especially for 2 more minutes.

All that happened was the doc stopped it because of the blood which was dumb and unnecessary, any of the damage on his face from this pic at all is just regular shit we see in almost every fight in the UFC. Anyone arguing for a legit stoppage here is either kevin lee nutthugger or is delusional in thinking that this damage should ever stop a fight.

I mean if you didn't stop it from last night's cut and swelling, then it might as well not be a rule. His left eye was almost completely swollen shut and blood was running straight down into his right eye from a cut exactly over it.

1. So it is your position that swelling does not increase over time? Also, whether or not you think any damage was being done, it isn't the case.
2. The man's eye was completely swollen shut. We can argue about whether the fight should have been stopped earlier. But there's no doubt that the fight should have been stopped when it was.
