Thread Prefix Tags are now Active in the War Room

Where is the Conspiracy Theory tag? Or the Outrage Porn tag?

Economy is a section and we generally would put business type threads there. I guess the topic you just posted is an odd duck and could be under economy.
Tech I have little hope for and would think it would be combined with science if we added that one as well.

What's your thoughts on the current one available and what could be swapped out to keep the list to six?

Is this forum where science threads are supposed to go? Science-Tech could be a single tag, though it might be misleading if it only refers to politicised science.

Personally I'm not sure the "Election" one adds a whole lot of information. It's kind of like saying "Politics".

We have a limit on number of categories so we have to try to be efficient. Going though the first few pages, it's hard to justify a science-tech category unless you have it encompass the environment, maybe military tech, and also maybe the atheism/religion type threads. That still makes up a small grouping but a viable alternative to possibly the election or opinion tag. I was thinking last night the election one needs expanded for it to be justified more by also being for polling threads as well. It definitely will be used more in the next two years as the presidential elections ramp up.

I think our biggest problem is summarizing a category to a word. Almost all of these prefixes will almost need an explaination of what all gets included in order to really know the way to group everything.

Yeah, switched it over to orange, but now it's doubling up with "elections". I don't think the font colours are independent.

After we filled in a few pages with what we had, it seemed like the biggest gap we still needed. International will refer to instances between two or more countries and not anything outside the US. For example, if a news story is about something like unemployment in Brazil, it should be labeled Economy or gay marriage in Japan should be labeled Social.

edit: that may have been because there weren't any crime tabs on the 1st page.

That makes a lot of sense.
 
I'm all for extra metadata but putting them in front of the title is really bad UI. They should go on the very end so you can scan titles and tags separately.

I tend to agree. However, I'm not sure if the software supports the option of doing this. They are even called prefixes.
 
Colors looking better out there @Lead . Thanks for keeping up the work, my eyes appreciate it.
 
Im still not a fan and dont think there was a need to change anything other than for the sake of change. I cant say this helps the overall experience here in the WR, but I can live with it if i have to.
 
Adding pre-school colors seems to make this board a bit more fitting for the mental level of many of the thread starters using them. Foolish idea all around, no one enters a thread based on what category it fits and not even using the color scheme the entire site uses on top of it so there is the added benefit of a complete EYE SORE.

I know, how about changing the design from a text based title to a Windows Live tile next...it would be just as fitting and make as much sense. Oh and make sure the tiles have wonderful pastels on this grey/black/silver layout, because, childish mentality.
 
The tags need more sparkles.
