"Told ya it was gonna land on 36 soon. Bet ya feel stupid now, don't ya?"
I like your posts on MMA/UFC etc.... I wish you would've put some money in bitcoin, you still can. Save this post and look at it at the end of this year, end of 5 years and end of 10 years. Bitcoin is speculative but I think people on here have been confused about why it's doing so well. For me bitcoin has been life-changing. Good luck to you and anybody else that gives it a shot.

Disclaimer: I am not giving investment advice. DYODD (do your own due diligence) JMHO (just my humble opinion)

Much like Eric Silva, Bitcoin is still a hot young prospect with all the potential in the world

The real Erick Silva is more like Enron than Bitcoin. Bitcoin would be Babe Ruth, Jon Jones, Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan and Novak Djokovic all rolled into one.

I fully agree paper currency is a scam for what it's worth, it's all a made up system with no more legitimacy than blockchain based currencies except the fact that it's recognised as such. I don't wish anyone ill and hope the bottom doesn't fall out of bitcoin as people have a lot riding on it but I really think it will at some point. Most crypto fanatics are like cult members.
There are literally countries using Bitcoin as official currency and as part of their investment portfolios so not sure how it has no legitimacy any longer.

Are you suggesting Crypto is backed by precious metals or something?
Name a self deflationary fiat.
It's funny how many people sound like their boomer parents in 1995 with "that fandangled new internet thing is gonna fizzle out."

Crypto is an excellent hedge for inflation and an excellent way to make money if you know what you're doing. I got into $eth at $30 and I'm very happy with how I've made out and what I've been able to accomplish because of it.

Thinking the entire broad concept of crypto is "a scam" is the showing of a limited scope of intelligence and imagination, a destined worker bee. I'm not trying to convince you specifically as I couldn't give a shit, but only leave this as a warning to others to look up how the opponents of inevitable progress usually end up.

You’ll find that critical thinking is not most people’s strong suit. You will find that it’s easier to be another brick in the wall or another cog in the clock rather than someone who can use their own devices and means of reasoning to draw a conclusion. Anyone who understands crypto, gets it. Anyone who doesn’t will try to make the other look the fool.

Look at this one you’re responding to, “precious metals” as if they are actually precious or worth something

I know you're being sarcastic but you are literally correct.
The type of people that use this site are exactly what you just described.

I mean it's a bunch of old dudes on an internet message board site.
Interesting point. Current gen peeps have no idea about message boards nowadays.

not only that but billionaire Michael Saylor, the former CEO of Microstrategy is all in on it on a personal and corporate level. The company now saves their money in bitcoin. The stock is shooting through the roof because of it. ETF's have been approved so everybody can have bitcoin in their retirement accounts as well. Inflation is a problem in the U.S. and throughout the world. To me bitcoin is at least part of the solution to a very big problem.

I'm not saying it's not a cool casino. I like gambling as much as the next guy. But it's really just another stock market without the regulation. What % of coins do you think are blatant scams? Do you think it's high enough to just issue the blanket statement 'crypto is a scam'? I do.

You would be amazed by the amount that aren't and all the cool things that are being built as we speak.

Are you counting every single ERC-20 shitcoin that exists? Because each of those can be made in 5 minutes by a kid in India and disseminated half an hour after that. If we hold that standard, then you may as well lump in chocolate coins with all of fiat and call that a scam too since your change sometimes melts in your pockets.

If you're the type of investor dumb enough to throw your life savings into CORNDOGCOIN then your financial future in all likelihood was never destined for anything particularly outstanding.

The ones worth investment, personally, aren't currencies at all, they are individual computational technologies that are meant to solve a specific problem or to bridge a specific gap, such as Ethereum enabling automated smart contracts.

Perhaps your point of view is based on a lack of research and understanding, rather a $2T+ market cap industry being a "scam" that only you are somehow smart enough to see through.

BTC is a gamble just like any other financial venture or currency.

My thing is I understand the INTENT of it and I'm open to accepting it if things work out, but literally everybody refers to the dollar for pricing. When you go to buy it it tells you how much money of USD (or other) it costs. What is a good example of someone living their life off BTC without ever tieing it back to the dollar? Even if you go to a store to buy groceries, that store still operates in fiat and deals with their suppliers in fiat. While it's true that 1 BTC is always 1 BTC, if you go to these places that accept fiat as primary currency you're always going to be reliant on the fiat.

If a case of water costs $9 or 0.0001433511 BTC but then inflation hits and that water goes up to $12, do you seriously think that water is still going to cost 0.0001433511 BTC? How is that protection against inflation until we are completely severed from any fiat?
