Slick Daddy Club: We're Talking About the Two-Time

Also why is Shroud so popular?

And Nickmercs?
shrouds one of the best players in the world and is pretty good with his fans/other streamers... i have seen him go into random peoples streams who had like 25 viewers, drop a host or raid and all of a sudden that person had thousands of followers and hundreds of subscribers. he doesnt have to do shit like that but he does. But he doesnt need some gimmick, hes a good player, maybe the best on twitch at shooters. Plus hes pretty honest if a game sucks and doesnt hold back talking about issues in games... also he doesnt bitch when he gets killed

So Ninja went from the most subscribed channel to not even top 5?
He's not even Top 10 in subs:

https://twitchtracker.com/subscribers

However, he's still the most followed:

And among individual streamers he's still one with the highest average concurrent viewer count. Only Tfue has more average viewers among non-pros (who only get on for competitions):

In terms of most watched in total man-hours he's #3 behind Tfue and Shroud:

Overwatch was the most watched game this month on Twitch.
And Nickmercs?
No idea why this guy is popular.

Overwatch was the most watched game this month on Twitch.

Most watched channel in July, not game. Overwatch as a game would be ranked 9th.

Its interesting how disproportional paid subs to prime subs are.

Oh, excuse me, it was merely the most watched professional eSport league channel in all of July.

Two of the four lifetime banned former CSGO iBuyPower players have formed a team to play it competitively. Blizzards now taking the proper steps towards eSports with their purchase of MLG.

From what i seen i dont think it will flourish as an eSport. Certain team orgs are doing minor investments on the assumption that Blizzard will be pushing for it though.
Youre presenting skill of class abilities usage. When im bring up over saturation of it from low CD game mechanics design with casual play in mind, not competitive play. When every notable game that has high viewers/active player base with character specific abilities trigger a CD on usage with a resource drain. For the skill usage triggering a CD in itself doesnt present adequate negatives.

Couple this with infinite ammo and Ultimate percentage or full gain carrying over upon death. The skill ceiling just wasnt lowered, it barely exists.
Im not criticizing the game. Pointing out the core game mechanics dont support competitive play to those who are acting ignorant on the matter.
A time frame based question is the wrong one to ask. Quality of the game coupled with skill and size of its active player base dictates the success.

I do, an ive seen nothing since then to make me think otherwise. Game still has those core problems three years later. An OWL is about to fail.

Cant have a developer like Riot come out an say its franchised league operates at a loss. Then perceive that Blizzard with a franchised international city based league at less viewers will succeed. Especially when Blizzard completely stopped all future esports funding for two of their IP's at the start of 2019.
