Here's a quick list of all movies watched by the SMC. Or if you prefer, here's a more detailed examination.

@sickc0d3r wants to lighten things up a bit with a few indie flicks that he's hoping we haven't already seen.

Here are our candidates!

The Way, Way Back (2013)

Directors: Nat Faxon, Jim Rash

Stars: Steve Carell, Toni Collette, Sam Rockwell

Premise: Shy 14-year-old Duncan goes on summer vacation with his mother, her overbearing boyfriend, and her boyfriend's daughter. Having a rough time fitting in, Duncan finds an unexpected friend in Owen, manager of the Water Wizz water park.

Why @sickc0d3r picked it: Sam Rockwell is funny and the story has a lot of heart. A simple little movie that really hits home with me.

Trailer:

Sideways (2004)

Director: Alexander Payne

Stars: Paul Giamatti, Thomas Haden Church, Virginia Madsen

Premise: Two men reaching middle age with not much to show but disappointment embark on a week-long road trip through California's wine country, just as one is about to take a trip down the aisle.

Why @sickc0d3r picked it: Giamatti is at his absolute best, and Haden Church gives him a run for his money.

Trailer:

Bottle Rocket (1996)

Director: Wes Anderson

Stars: Luke Wilson, Owen Wilson, Ned Dowd

Premise: Three friends plan to pull off a simple robbery and go on the run.

Why @sickc0d3r picked it: Have never gotten around to seeing this one, but I like that it started as an indie, ran out of money, and went to Sundance, where Columbia saw it and decided to finance it for feature length.

Trailer:

Swingers (1996)

Director: Doug Liman

Stars: Vince Vaughn, Heather Graham, Jon Favreau

Premise: Wannabe actors become regulars in the stylish neo-lounge scene; Trent teaches his friend Mike the unwritten rules of the scene.

Why @sickc0d3r picked it: Amazing cast, with witty dialogue, Hollywood hipster cliches, a little nostalgia, and great music.

Good choices @sickc0d3r I've actually seen all 4 so I just chose the one I felt was the best film.

Heads up, everyone! We have another new member.

@MusterX, time for you to jump @FrontNakedChoke into the Club, so do your thing.

Everyone else, say say hello and take note that his vote counts this week.

I have watched three of these movies exactly once, and never thought I'd need to revisit them. And the other one I've seen a few times because I showed it to people after I discovered it. Game on.

Goddammit you people have seen too many movies.

As I mentioned earlier, I've only seen two of them if that makes you feel any better.

I'm surprised two people ITT have mentioned they've seen Bottle Rocket. Seems like a fairly obscure film to me, despite being a Wes Anderson joint.

Yeah, I was sure that one and Way, Way Back would have slipped by most people.

I had a class in high school where we watched every Wes Anderson film, the most recent at that time being The Darjeeling Limited. That was the only time I've seen Bottle Rocket.

Sorry @FrontNakedChoke but everybody gotta get jumped in around here.

We should start voting pledges in based on how strong their PM porn game is x a convincing amount of begging and pleading. Well, at least consider it.

If it makes you feel better, I don't remember seeing three of the four. Although one sounds familiar. Or it did fleetingly.

Bottle rocket.

I was gonna watch it at some point but I think i ended up watching arrested development reruns.

Oh, I meant to tell you, don't announce your vote until after the poll is closed. That's so that we don't influence other members' voting.

You know, after looking at this list with a clearer head, all but the movie I picked I’ve seen this year.

Sideways just works. The combo of thomas hayden church and paul giamatti is great. I’ma watch this later on today.

Edit: 2004?!? God I feel old.

Great choices.

The Way, Way Back is decent, as is Bottle Rocket, but Sideways is one of the best films I have ever seen.

I've seen that one and one other. Though I didn't realize that I had at first since I saw it under it's Swedish title "(Un)organized Criminality".

(Un)organized Criminality...<{CMPALM}>

I picked the way way back only because i dont think ive ever heard anything about that one.

Since people who have already voted can see what everyone voted for, you can still talk about it, but just say "I went with the movie I voted for because. . ." or something along those lines.
