From the article, this isn't an evolved behaviour but a latent one that microgravity has triggered.

For the purposes of studying antibiotic resistant traits that zero-g seems to highlight, it seems doing the research on the ISS is ideal.
It bothers me sometimes how people don't figure things out like this.

Invasive species are already wrecking ecosystems. We don't need inspaceive bacteria wrecking our immune systems. Keep it on the ISS, but even that is risky!
