I’m not sure if vo2 max/lung capacity diminishes as you age but I played with a women in her 70’s who had no problem keeping up. Only thing hard for her was her fingering (not joking lol). Old ass hands lol.

It does as you age

You get fibrosis where elastin breaks down and is replaced with collagen, this leads to decreased lung compliance

or you can get COPD which leads to increased lung compliance, easy to inflate, hard to deflate

I relate to both of these sentiments. When I used to sing professionally I did more weddings and funerals than I can ever remember. Great money for a half hour's work. 90% of the funerals were for elderly folk, so people were prepared. But I also once had to do one for an infant that was beyond depressing. I didn't even know the people, but everyone there was so devastated, my throat hurt from being choked up. The worst though was when I was asked to sing for a friend's funeral (he and his mom died in a car crash). I was too young for that shit. Was balling through the whole thing.

Yah, I know. But eight years of her abuse and coming out the other end left me with a bit of pent up anger. Just helps to vent once in a while.

And I'm semi seeing a gal right now, a decade my junior. Certainly helps stroke the ego a bit.
