One thing that shocked me about the US is how many parents are willing to send their kids to whatever party school their kids pick. WTF?

My buddy's ex-wife went to Claremont with her ding bat friends because they wanted to hangout in Hollywood. Color me surprised that her favorite past time was watching the E channel. Just for refernce she grew up in a college town with reasonable state school (Eugene, OR).

All the schools in my niece's conference, including CMS, are like $45k plus. No athletic scholarship money either because they're Division 3.

Only 'cruise' I ever went on was a five day one up the Yangtze River from Shangai to Chengdu before they completed that massive damn project. They had a line painted high on some of the cliffs to show where the new water line would be. Something on the order of 2000 villages would end up submerged and nearly a million people displaced. Crazy.
The boat was pretty nice, considering. And the food was amazing I must say, all you could eat.
Cold beer was lacking however, mainland Chinese don't put much stock in ice I guess.

It's on the Celebrity cruise line. The ship is called Reflection. Food is all inclusive. We got the premium drink package (the one thing I felt was overpriced, but fuck it, lol). I was amazed how reasonable the cruise was considering it's almost 2 weeks and 4 countries with multiple stops in Italy and Spain (we have a suite, but not one of the ridiculous ones, less expensive rooms are available). All told, the trip is costing just over 7 grand for my wife and I (that's airfare, cruise, drink package, a couple nights hotel in Rome before and after the trip, plus a Vatican tour). We got an amazing discount on the cruise through vacationstogo.com that lopped off over $1,500 (but we also booked this thing in January). Obviously, we'll end up spending money while we're there as well.

Hope your captain stays away from the rocks.

My buddy from high school was a mid-level dealer. A tactical squad took him right from his car in his driveway. Just under of ki of blow, $80,000 in cash, plus pills and some weapons. There was also something else that they probably had no clue of what it was (I'll tell you the next time we ride up mt Diablo). Anyway, they check in $35,000. What's he going to do -- say, "hey I had more illegal money than that!"?
