Ukraine notified the Council of Europe in April about its intent to suspend several clauses of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms due to martial law.

The Ukrainian government said in a statement published on the Council's website that it would derogate from the provisions covered by Articles 30-34, 38, 39, 41-44, 53 of the country's constitution.

The rights that will be restricted are inviolability of housing, non-interference in personal and family life, confidentiality of correspondences, freedom of movement, and freedom of speech.
Under new changes to martial law, in place since February 2022, the government will have the right to compulsorily alienate private property for the needs of the state, to introduce curfew, to inspect the belongings, vehicles and homes of citizens, to ban peaceful assemblies, and to restrict the right for free choice of residence.

The office of the UN commissioner for human rights reported a rise in human rights violations committed by the Ukrainian military in 2023. These included arbitrary arrests and forced disappearances, as well as torture and sexual violence against detainees.
Some things from these were used in so called civilised world during World War I and World War II.

1. Military and police might order private citizens to allow use their mortgage properties and factories etc.
2. Requisition of transport tools, including cars, horses and even bikes if needed for military purposes.
3. To order essential workers to do jobs necessary to be done behind frontlines.
For example electrician might had been sent to work in power plant etc.
Workers if needed might had been ordered to work in ammo etc factories, mining industry etc.
4. Certain speciality students might had been sent to work In hospital, chemistry factories etc.
Common thing was that medicine students learned their curriculum in unis but had worked in hospitals when they didn't had lectures ....

5. There was stuff like mandatory service to work essential jobs....doesn't matter that you aren't military person, just ordinary civilian. Governments had rights to order you to work in ammunition factory etc kind of essential jobs.
This was tool to ensure that ammunition factories had sufficient number of workforce etc...

Transport tools and even horses might be requisited if military needed them....all payment usually was peace of paper where ....

another thing is that usually during wartime condition or emergency situation military does have rights to demand civies to gave fuel to be used for military purposes...

Some from interesting production governments demanded to produce was cellulose and charcoal ( charcoal from Wood not only is highly valuable to be used for heating, this stuff still is very important for chemistry and pharmacy industry ).

I think that Ukrainian lawmakers still doesn't have clue what stuff is .. wartime economy and what stuff means to get all society mobilized in order to win. It isn't just to put some numbers of bodies in trenches.
They should read books...real life stories about this time from real persons life experience.
For example I had read life story about one famous surgeon. When he was young student he worked in....power plant during weekends. 24 hours shifts. When he had learned enough to be usable in hospital, then ofc had been used in hospital. This gentleman later was famous academician.....
A lot of real life stories awailable to read up in order to get...idea what stuff is real wartime economy....and from real ppl real life stories confirmed with documents....

I was surprised when had to read that Ukr Supreme lawmaker in Rada ( parliament ) had discussed changes in mobilisation law 4 months.... created 4950 pages project.
Funding for fortifications had been discussed 2 months in row.
Impression was that for them ...war in Ukraine doesn't exist....
All this stuff is awailable for free in their official website ... also sessions protocols and proposals about supposed solutions etc.

Any questions about Russia ties to NK?

The debris from a missile that landed in the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv on January 2 was from a North Korean Hwasong-11 series ballistic missile, United Nations sanctions monitors told a Security Council (UNSC) committee in a report seen by the Reuters news agency on Monday.
In the 32-page report, the UN sanctions monitors concluded that “debris recovered from a missile that landed in Kharkiv, Ukraine, on 2 January 2024 derives from a DPRK Hwasong-11 series missile” and is in violation of the arms embargo on North Korea."

Ukraine is not going to allow soldiers who fought for a long time to demobilize, which I think it's a mistake. It's absolutely demoralizing to troops who fought on the frontline for years that the only way they can return home is in a body bag or as an amputee. Imagine being a guy in a trench getting shelled for the last 3 years hearing about this.

I will explain why it is difficult to manufacture modern radar and how it is really difficult task even for hardcore pros.
Ppl usually are talking about software and radioelectronic equipment while it isn't most complex part here.
To manufacture modern radar you need to use top notch level state of art precision mechanics and ultra high precision metal processing.... level not lower than elite level gemstones grinders and watchmakers does have.

any martial law experts here? what is it like other western countries? all of these make sense to me when you have war on your land and spies/saboteurs or collaborators among you, whether sent from Russia or your own fellow citizens. ban on assemblies seems iffy, but Russians love attacking civilians, why give them such targets.

See when you suck Putin cock it gets you into the Boys club. I expect starlink to be disabled in Ukraine soon. Elon will use his but but I never planned on starlink use in war soon. Wall Street an likely China boosted the stock.

"
Tesla (TSLA) stock soared on Monday following reports that CEO Elon Musk won Chinese approval to deploy the automaker’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) autonomous software on the mainland.

As was first reported by the Wall Street Journal, people familiar with the matter said that officials told Tesla that they had tentatively approved FSD in the country during Musk’s 24-hour visit to Beijing over the weekend.

Separately, Bloomberg earlier reported that Tesla will use Chinese tech company Baidu’s street-level mapping data to power FSD. Tesla had been previously using Baidu’s mapping data for satellite navigation in its cars. Working with a Chinese company helped with regulatory approval as data privacy and security risks are minimized, the reports said.

Tesla closed up 15.3%, hitting its highest levels since March 1. Tesla stock is now up over 30% in the past four trading sessions"

This video link I had posted is with guy who is deNazifying donbas 8 years.....

Next stuff is very bad news for Ukraine about their intent to conscript ukrainians living aboard or impact them by denying them consular services.
First stuff: Estonia will not expel Ukrainian citizens with documents past their validity term. Clear NO .....

Next stuff is about Poland and they wants that such decision will be made in centralized manner with decisions made with approval from EP and EC.
Deal Lord, this means xxx discussions and EU Next week will send some commissar to start first phase of proposals....about possible Next discussions sessions....welcome to the hell.
Orban wants that EU human rights specialists will establish commission in order to evalue human rights situation in Ukraine.

As Desertions Rise, Russian Soldiers Face Dilemma in Ukraine Conflict

"Ukraine’s military intelligence agency, known as HUR, highlighted that troops from Russia’s Southern Military District are increasingly deserting. The HUR claimed that more than 18,000 Russian servicemen have fled, with around 12,000 belonging to the 8th Combined Arms Army, a unit regularly engaged in hostilities. Additionally, about 2,500 troops are reported to have deserted from the Russian 58th Combined Arms Army.

Desertion has been a persistent issue for the Russian military throughout the conflict. In November 2022, the British Defense Ministry even suggested that Kremlin generals may have sanctioned the use of lethal force against deserters.

The grave consequences of desertion, carrying a potential 10-year prison sentence, do not seem to deter the Russian soldiers from abandoning their posts. A Russian anti-war project named “Get Lost”, created to help Russian men evade conscription, has noted a tenfold increase in desertion cases this year.

A Russian serviceman, identified only as Ivan, gave insight into the desperation and lengths soldiers go to escape the battlefield. “Desertion is as hard as it ever was and it all depends on where the soldier is,” he said, acknowledging the risks involved, including criminal consequences. Some soldiers take extreme measures, like feigning death or injuring themselves to reach a hospital from where they can flee.

The UK has also highlighted Russia’s substantial military losses. Armed Forces Minister Leo Doherty suggested that approximately 450,000 Russian military personnel have been killed or wounded, with “tens of thousands more” deserting. Moscow is also believed to have lost almost 3,000 tanks and a considerable number of aircraft, vehicles, and naval vessels.

Ukraine actually does have troops and mobilisation reserves...
Biggest problem is lack of weapons and especially ammo and air defense. Also a lot of experienced battle tested soldiers and officers had fought too long without rotation....

Actually yes.. at least 18000 soldiers are in wanted lists and even worse.
Russian authorities doesn't knows where are some batches with prisoners previously hired by Wagner. These prisoners usually had served term for violent offences and now they does have weapons.... at least something more than 200 such prisoners had disappeared.

Russian soldier tells the tale of 19-year-old Russian civilians who went to fight against Ukraine just for the money.
