I know we have quite a few movie buffs here, that really seem to enjoy the technical side of movies, and seem to appreciate the sub par storylines, and scripts Hollywood puts out today.

Just to name a few bohemoth movies that came out in 1992.... a few good men, a league of their own, Malcom X, Scent of a Women, Unforgiven, Wayne's World, and American Me.

Then there are the fun, and good movies, like home alone 2, Aladdin, the mighty ducks, honeymoon in vegas, Cool World, Freejack, Diggstown, My Cousin Vinny, lethal weapon 3, cool runnings.

Here look for yourself. The number of great movies that came out in 92 was crazy.

If Cool Runnings came out today, it would win the Oscar for best picture. That is how far off Hollywood has fallen.

With this in mind, let's help Hollywood out. Pitch your movie idea, and hope Hollywood steals it, so we don't have to watch a remake of Sister Act, or Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

The movies nominated for the oscars this year have been pretty damn good.

But anyway, I'd pitch a romantic drama about an asian manlet who hunts pigeons for subsistence. He one day enters a coffee shop where he locks eyes with the beautiful barista behind the counter...

Two good looking people fuck
I watch movies with that storyline on a regular basis. Sometimes many goodlooking people fuck each other.

I'd like to see a movie about people in the future like robocop who get cyborg enhancements to fight in a kumite death tournament and get revenge for their murdered family or friend. Kind of like kano from mortal kombat but better than that movie. Maybe they have sex with some feminine cyborg robots too.

I also think they should make a movie from the game bioshock.

I don't really want to see a movie about Bioshock. The setting is awesome, dont get me wrong, but the biggest strength is in the identity of the "player" being secret, and being "used" by everyone. You make a movie about it,it really does change things, and youd have to create someone to fill the role, which kind of changes the entire dynamic. I guess it could be done, but it kind of defeats the purpose of making a movie about the game I guess, unless they come at it in a completely different direction.

I would be more interested in learning about Andrew Ryan, Dr Suchong, the crazy plastic surgeon doctor (Steinway?), and all of the plasmid experiments and how everyone devoled into adam dope fiends. The protagonist doesn't need to say much at all.

It would have to be from a different perspective than the way the game works, somehow. But no one else in the game is really a "hero" so to speak, not even the player. He is just a pawn.

I agree that if a movie put too much emphasis on the game protagonist that it would detract from the story.

So it's like the sandlot, but everyone is a hobo. And in the end, maybe they get sponsored to have a team in a soft pitch softball league - or maybe it's all a heroin-induced dream by a guy who's neither homeless, nor a softball player. He's actually an employee in a pet shop, and had a lucky scratch-off ticket that won him $50, which he used to buy the heroin.
It'll be up to the viewer to decide.

Friday The 13th and X-Files crossover, pretend like everything after Friday part 5 never happened, just make this like a big 2 hour X-Files Monster Of the Week episode. Tommy Jarvis goes on a murderous rampage while being psychologically haunted by Jason Voorhees' ghost. Have Mulder and Scully investigating the events of parts 1 through 5, tracking down former victims that survived like that one girl Ginny from part 2, Chris from part 3, all while investigating the Voorhees family history while also tracking fugitive Tommy Jarvis down. Scully gets kidnapped and held hostage by Jarvis and she feels his pain and see's how fucked up he is because of what he went through in Friday parts 4 and 5, Mulder profiles Tommy Jarvis and has Crystal Lake dredged with some fancy new technology/sciece. Mulder saves Scully, Jarvis gets arrested in a dramatic final stand off, then in the end they find the 7 year old skull of Jason Voorhees in the lake, revealing that the man that murdered everyone in Friday parts 2, 3, and 4 was actually Jason's father Elias. Final cut to Mulder and Scully interviewing Tommy Jarvis behind bars like he's Hannibal Lectar and dude is completely gone, almost like Jason's ghost completely took over his body like an exorcist or something(Mulder's theory, Scully's theory is some extreme form of post traumatic stress or some other psychological issue explained by science).

100 Years in the future: Mega-Corporations have taken over the world. The have more power and money than governments ever did. Scientists and theologians working for the largest and most powerful Mega-Corp make an incredible discovery - Heaven and Hell are real. And there are places on earth where Hell can be accessed.

Mega-Corps begin offering After Life Insurance. For a fee in the Billions, highly trained specialists - nicknamed the Real Hell's Angels - will descend into Hell itself and retrieve your Soul, which will then be placed in a clone body, gentically egineered to be physically perfect. You can commit every sin imaginable and never have to suffer the torments of the damned. Physical immortality - for a very high price.

For obvious reasons, the Mega Corps keep both the existance of Hell and After Life Insurance a very strictly guarded secret. The movie can thus focus on one or several story arcs that come from this basic concept.

- A rookie RHA on his first retrieval op.

- A dying veteran leading his team on one last operation. He knows that he'll soon be coming back to Hell for good...

- An ex-employee of the Mega Corp who is disgusted that Billionaires can buy their way out of paying for their sins, and is determined to expose the truth.

- A Real Hell's Angels team finds that their mission is being sabotaged. One by one they are picked off and killed. They must figure out who the traitor is before he kills them all.

- A team is sent to the deepest and worst part of Hell. No Soul has ever been retrieved from this deep. The fee is astronomical, the odds almost suicidal. And if they somehow manage to pull it off, they will bring back to life the greatest evil the world has ever known...

I know your list isn't meant to be comprehensive, but there are some pretty big omissions:

Last of the Mohicans
White Men Can't Jump
A River Runs Through It
Of Mice and Men
A Few Good Men
Reservoir Dogs
