Cool it is for charity. But the fact PFL is making enough money to even give a dime away to charity makes no sense to me.

Think PFL mainly giving away their time to support the event. Proceeds will cover direct costs which should be lower as others donate too. It's a good cause and positive publicity so the attraction to participate.

PFL might lose more on their profit seeking events .

I can rule out a few. Abdulkerimov isn't fighting anymore as far as I know. Johnson and Tony Lopez are signed to Russian orgs and those contracts do not have a PFL out clause. Anyanwu is with the UFC now. I don't believe Odoms and Jeff Hughes have out clauses for PFL in their LFA contracts. Here's my thoughts on a field:
