Hmmm.... I don't know if that is a testament to who won the battle. Still soundz like a stalemate to me since the battle ended up with Palp retreating. Can only imagine what was going through his mind. He obviously wanted to finish off Yoda but decided to retreat. In the book though, the fight is similar, but Yoda is remarking to himself how strong and powerful Palpatine is, and during this battle, he thinks that his work of teaching Jedi has been wrong. He says the Sith have studied the light and dark, and have evolved to be very powerful, whereas he was still teaching the same methods/ways that he learned from his masters. Basically thinking himself as a failure to himself and all his students for not embracing change and evolving
That said... it is interesting that Yoda had those thoughts about Palps being more powerful due to them delving into both sides. Do they though? How does a dark sider know anything about the light? The main difference between Sith & Jedi is that the Jedi are selfless... & the Sith insist on being selfish. The Sith even mock other Sith for thinking of other's needs instead of their own. So a Sith cannot by definition of their values know anything about the Jedi way.
I don't really understand this point of view unless Yoda is just being a bit dramatic due to the fact that he didn't defeat Palps. He did come across like he had failed when he spoke of it after their battle.
Great review of the book... thank you for sharing that stuff!
