N/S choke in mma

i have a weird body type i have very wide shoulders but short arms so darces are hard for me to hit too when guys are broad

I’m not talking about darces, but a clean ns choke. Your biceps and lats/ribs should do the job

If you watch Marcelo Garcua a lot of times he chokes through the chin. Check out his episode of Rolled Up with Budo Jake. On part 2 of the episode it's the very last sub that Marcelo hits when they roll together. Jake's chin is inside the choke but Marcelo collapses through it.

@BJJ_Rage is right in that if you hit both sides of the neck and drop the shoulder well enough it shouldn't matter way too much. It's hard if their entire chin is in there, but if it's just a little bit in there you should be solid.

Same here. And in the gi sometimes through all the fabric I can't always tell if I'm fully on their throat or if they have a tiny bit of their chin in there.

Exactly, now I wonder if an arm triangle from there would be useful.

Yes... ribs do a lot of work.
