How is that possible?!???
He beat some guy I've never heard of nor could find a pro record for this Carlos Aguilar.
Amazing!!!
.
So what. He's a boxer and should toy with a guy who hasn't taken a class in his life.
Spacetime, keep your bad threads in the standup forum.
Somebody enters a different sport and wins easily? I'd say that's worthy of a thread no matter who'm he faces.
Kevin Ross is a fucking badass murder machine who trains at one of the best MT gyms in the US under a head coach who I suspect has confirmed kills under secret government contracts. As a MT fighter he's made a career off of his sharp hands, superb timing and strong chin. Boxing isn't that big of a leap for him. He's fought mma, sanshu, and k-1 rules as well.
Edit: and it's an amateur bout
Ross had a mere 5 Muay Thai fights leading into to the fight? And no preperation
How is this possible? Ross said on the Rogan podcast that he had no formal training in boxing either.....
yes because the boxer was a noob and the muay thai guy was not noob with his hands or anything else
Its not amazing when K1 guys KO boxers or vice versa or mma guys ko k1 guys etc, men are men, some are made more powerful and stronger than other men, and when you transplant someone like a prime Rampage in with the K1 greats he can do some damage and KO some guys, when you transplant mc greggor in with some low level pro boxers he can win because hes so fast , powerful and has a good chin etc
Genetics beats technique and if the guy has decent technique too even if its not of the same level then the fight is even closer
Boxing does not breed some superior level of fighting athlete like people seem to think, Manheof is probably almost as powerful in boxing as he is in mma if you put him in a boxing ring
You put Francia Botha in the K1 ring and his punches dont suddenly start wiping people out because he never was a devastating puncher he doesn't become one jsut because he moves to K1 and is a pro boxer that almost beat Tyson
I imagine it's just that Kevin is a far superior athlete & much tougher & experienced in combat sports than his opponent.
Floyd Mayweather Sr. used to kiai to. at least he did in that fight with charlie z.Botha was pretty fun to watch in K-1 & actually had some good wins. What I thought was most bizarre about him that as a boxer he used to use almost like karate kiais (sp) when he punched. I thought that would be a big no-no in boxing but I guess it works for him & he is able to not get penalized too badly for it.
im trying to find kirians coaching bio. When I met him he set off my spider senses as a very dangerous man despite his appearance so much that I cracked a joke about it to my friend. I looked up his bio later and there's a lot of security and protection work/ training for Uncle Sam.Super doubt Kirian has bodies under his belt, but his school is legit.
When this bout was video'd, I think Ross was still fighting out of a gym in vegas, master toddy's I think? Not sure.
