Damn! No wonder Tecia posted this on IG last month!

During the time that TUF 20 was airing there was apparently a lot of gossip regarding Tecia Torres and suspected steroid use. Plus Tecia and Carla Esparza quarrelled online about it. That must've got USADA's attention.

Tecia Torres and Carla Esparza have bitter exchange regarding PED usage

Following the debut episode of The Ultimate Fighter Season 20, Tecia Torres took to Instagram to deny PED usage, while simultaneously taking jabs at Carla Esparza.

Tecia was rocking a pretty full mustache on TUF.

Like this fight. Hoping Waterson can get back on the winning track

This IS a great Match up. However it is a dangerous one for "Endeavor" to make. They are heavily investing in Waterson, wanting to make her a big crossover Star. There is a lot riding on this fight for Michelle, if she loses they may pull back on promoting her so much. After the beating she took from Rose I would have thought they'd of made an easier fight for her (like they did with PVZ). Some may not be fans of Torres style but she has momentum and has improved greatly over the last year since finishing school and finally training full time. This fight depends a lot on Waterson's mind set coming back after her last loss and how she deals with the pressure on her.

Torres wrestling and BJJ defense will be the key. Don't believe this fight will be as exciting as people think. If Torres plays it smart she will take Waterson down and use defensive/safe GNP to win a decision. Michelle doesn't have the best TTD as she relies on her BJJ from the bottom. But we all know higher level wrestlers who don't take chances are extremely hard to sub. If the game plan for Torres is this she wins by dec.

If Torres decides to try and stand with Waterson and use her new found striking it will be a mistake. Waterson is too experienced striking and will pick Torres apart. As we know, once a wrestler has even had a little success on the feet they like to stand and forget what made them successful, if this happens with Torres ....... Waterson gets the W.

Sweet, good to see Michelle fighting again. I hope she pulls out a decent win over Tecia, I think this will be a pretty decent fight. This card is gonna be so dope!!!!

WTF did I just read? Torres a wrestler? GTFO.

The Tecia fight makes the most sense, #6 vs. #7 and they both lost to Rose and their UFC victories have not been against killers. However, we have seen fighters like Esparza and Tecia get low-ranked fighters after a loss, so I was half-expecting Michelle to get someone like Moroz or Taylor. But I honestly think she wants to get a title shot. Back in August she was very excited to announce a fight that never came through. I think she was booked against Karolina then the UFC changed it's mind. I honestly think that if Michelle beat Tecia, and Karolina beats Jodie Esquibel, KK vs. Waterson is their next fight.

If history is any guide, Michelle's mindset after a loss is "Murder, Death, Kill".... she finishes opponents after a loss, usually in a brutal and creative fashion. Tecia has grown, but she still falls into her "punch, punch, right low kick" eventually in EVERY fight and Greg Jackson will be gameplanning for that. Michelle was able to send Rose flying backwards with well timed kicks repeatedly, I suspect she does much the same to Torres.

As Leto so nicely pointed out, Torres has NEVER been a great wrestler or ground specialist. She's had only two good ground showings: Against a gassed Angela Hill who knew NOTHING about ground work or wrestling at that point in her career and against Lima, who literally gave Torres her neck in one of the most stupendous brain farts I've ever seen in MMA. Michelle has a huge advantage in all areas of the ground game, wrestling, BJJ you name it. Torres is most likely screwed if she takes it there.

Yeah until hottie pulls out cuz of a stubbed toe, a case of the sniffles, or to shit out another kid.

Color me doubtful
Meh, not Waterson's fault everyone wants to fill her up with babies.

FWIW I think Tecia on a bicycle takes this one but I'd love to be proven wrong.

What is this "new found striking" of which you speak?

Torres has been a striker throughout her life and her career. She started training karate at age 5 (or younger, according to which account you read). She has a black belt in Jhoon-Rhee Taekwondo. She says: "As an amateur fighter I was a four-time world kickboxing champ." The first time Torres ever had a game plan that involved wrestling her way to a win was her fight in Mexico City against Angela Hill in 2015, a plan that only made sense because Hill, like Torres, had a very strong striking background but was not known for being dangerous on the mat. Tecia managed top control during that fight, but so little else that she became widely mocked as the "Bore-nado" (a play on her actual nick-name: "The Tiny Tornado") afterward and apologized to her fans. Torres's first win by submission only came in her most recent fight (her tenth professional MMA fight).

As "The Tiny Tornado" striker, she can throw a whirlwind of volume (as her nick-name suggests) and win decisions thereby. That has generally been her key to victory (with the drawback being her short reach, so she tends to do a lot of darting in and out of the pocket, and a lot of karate-style side-kicking to keep opponents at bay).

I know if Tecia Torres,Felice Herrig & Cynthia Calvillo
win there respective fights between UFC 218 & UFC 219
it will give all three cases to make since Tecia is undefeated
other then Rose Namajunas while Felice has won all
of her fights of recent other then Paige VanZant & Cynthia
would have 4 wins with two of them ranked if she takes
out Carla Esparza.

Double KO would be nice

I think Tecia will win, a mild upset according to this poll.. Surprising.

Damn I'm gonna get some good odds on Tecia. Waterson sucks

This is great. Michelle confirms in the first minute she is taking it seriously and training.

She had to put this out there because of all the non-MMA stuff (commercials, TV, ect.) her agent has her doing.

The fact is, she spent about a month this summer doing the MTV show and a few weekends doing other stuff. Other than that, she was back in the gym after the loss to Rose before her bruises healed and has been training hard.

They also had her flying to New York and LA literally *every* weekend during her last camp. So stupid. Michelle said she won't be doing that this time and hasn't yet, a few weeks into the camp.

If Waterson wins this fight, I'm sure she gets it. Hell, if Tecia wins it she may get it as well. UFC obviously wants Waterson in a title fight though.

I think if Calvillo beats Esparza and Herrig beats Casey than they should fight for a shot AFTER the winner of Waterson/Torres here. Let's get a line going. It would be nice for Calvillo to get even more fights but the SW division isn't the embodiment of depth.

I do not think that Tecia vs. Michelle is a title eliminator. Not at all.

Don't know why fans are sleeping on Tecia. She got some good qualities like cardio, speed, footwork, she can adapt and change it up, improved on the ground, pretty strong for a girl her size and I never seen her get rocked.

Plus I think she clean.

I like Waterson too so this one should be good.
