PBP LUX 041 on March 15 (UFC Fight Pass)

They have mentioned Caro 1-0, but she's 2-0. She fought last year in her second fight and won with a quick first round TKO.

That's what happens when you rely on Tapology instead of Sherdog. 😁

Ivonne Caro def. Victoria Alba by unanimous decision.

Victoria Alba - Ivonne Caro

  1. 9-10 (I missed the first minute. Caro impresses in the stand-up and lands the more precise strikes. Alba seems comfortable in wrestling, but there was too little of it from her in the first round.)
  2. 9-10 (Caro is simply superior in the stand-up. Alba also doesn't seem particularly explosive; everything is quite sluggish. However, it also depends on Caro not breaking down physically.)
  3. 10-9 (Close round. Alba is more active now and lands clear shots. However, Caro manages to take her down in the last 50 seconds, accumulating control time but no significant moments on the ground. So, I would still give the round to Alba.)
28-29

This was a good performance from Caro.

Verdict:
2x 30-27
29-28

Luis Rey Gallegos def. Eduardo Alvarado by unanimous decision.

Luis Rey Gallegos - Eduardo Alvarado

  1. 9-10 (Gallegos is a mover, which seems smart against Alvarado, who appears to be a good boxer. Alvarado lands fewer shots, but they are harder.)
  2. 10-9 (Gallegos landed a great shot to the chin there, which staggered Alvarado. It was very close after that. Gallegos sometimes seems too negative for my taste, but with the strong effective blow, he gets the round from me.)
  3. 10-9 (This is an exciting fight. Gallegos is trying to dance his way to victory here. It's not necessarily spectacular, but a win is a win. Alvarado again has good moments, and the round is very close, reflecting the entire fight.)
29-28

That was a very interesting fight, I quite enjoyed it, although Gallegos did present himself negatively at times.

Verdict:
3x 29-28

Emilio Saavedra - Emmanuel Rivero

  1. 10-9 (Now the co-main event featuring the legendary matchup between Mexico and Argentina. Saavedra lands good kicks and flying knees, Rivero is in trouble and appears hurt, but remains tough and dangerous towards the end.)
  2. 9-10 (Close round. Saavedra has spectacular moments in the fight, but much of it was also absorbed by Rivero's defense. Rivero manages to land some shots on Saavedra towards the end, maybe enough to take the round. It could certainly be scored differently.)
  3. 9-10 (Not much action in the final round. Both mostly miss their targets and swing at air. Saavedra seems confident of victory and gives away the last round.)
28-29

This could certainly be scored differently; it was very close. Saavedra, however, couldn't maintain the strong impression from the first round, that much is clear.

Verdict:
29-28 Rivero
2x 29-28 Saavedra

Emilio Saavedra def. Emmanuel Rivero by split decision.

Jorge Calvo def. Enrique Gonzalez by unanimous decision.

Jorge Calvo Martin - Kik-e Gonzalez

  1. 8-10(The time has come for the big main event. Calvo defends his title in the flyweight division. He currently stands at a LUX record of 6-1. El Locote Gonzalez reinforces his title ambitions with a current record of 3-1 with the organization. Gonzalez lands an early power shot and sends Calco down. Then Gonzalez follows up with ground and pound. There are many elbows and hammerfists, it was a very clear round. However, Gonzalez somehow managed to get a cut.)
  2. 10-9(Gonzalez is now faltering, due to the significant cut on his forehead. This is a position that unfortunately tends to bleed a lot, as we can see here again. Gonzalez keeps wiping over his face, he can't see anything at times. The doctor takes another look at it, but so far, it's still going.)
  3. 10-9(It's quite a tough sight with all the blood. Calvo is practically milking him there on the ground, trying to squeeze out whatever he can. Sometimes Gonzalez manages to change positions, but mostly Calvo is in control.)
  4. 10-9(Gonzalez gets a good position on the ground at one point, but he later loses it and Calvo is once again the one making Gonzalez bleed.)
  5. 10-9(Gonzalez is not winning anymore, also because Calvo is skillfully working in the grappling and not keeping the fight standing.)
48-46

Disappointing for Gonzalez, who came into the fight strong but caught an elbow that caused this cut. That's what turned the fight. Still, respect to Gonzalez for making it through the full 5 rounds despite these circumstances.

Verdict:

3x 49-46

Which fight was the bloody war? Is the main card worth catching up on?

The main event is the bloody war and the fight you really need to watch from the card.
