Lines you can relate to.

"End all Life, Nothing Shall Remain, Die Fuckers of the Universe, Drop Dead by the Hammer of Hell"

Urgehal - The Necessity of Total Genocide

\m/ Ave Satan

Mother Earth is pregnant for the third time
For y'all have knocked her up
I have tasted the maggots in the mind of the universe
I was not offended
For I knew I had to rise above it all
Or drown in my own shit

Too many to count but a few off the top of my head:

"Skateboards and 40oz bottles. Brass knuckles and Monte Carlos. Waiting at the pay phone for drugs that'll never come.
So broke, so poor, so we lived for everything they couldn't take."

The lyrics too Wasted Years by Iron Maiden.

Favorite song by them.

Pretty much the entire set of lyrics save a couple of lines that are clearly about touring/being on the road.

"But now it seems, I'm just a stranger to myself,
And all the things I sometimes do, it isn't me but someone else."

"Ain't it funny how it is, you never miss it til it's gone away,
And my heart is lying there and will be til my dying day.

So understand
Don't waste your time always searching for those wasted years,
Face up, make your stand,
And realize you're living in the golden years.

Too much time on my hands, I got you on my mind,
Can't ease this pain, so easily,
When you can't find the words to say, it's hard to make it through another day,

And it makes me want to cry, and throw my hands up to the sky."

I obviously understand that it's about touring your life away and being away from loved ones and everything else you love(besides being a musician and playing your music), but the general message of the song "Don't waste your time, always searching for those wasted years" strikes a chord.

There was a period in my life where I was wasting my youth and where I just let absolute helplessness consume me, but no more. Those days are over.

"You walk down Alameda shuffling your deck of trick cards over everyone
Like some precious only son
Face down, bow to the champion
You walk down Alameda looking at the cracks in the sidewalk, thinking about your friends
How you maintain all them in a constant state of suspense".

Pretty much that whole song, but those lyrics in particular always really resonated with me.

Qotsa.
"I need something good to die for."
"To make it beautiful to live "
