They need to fight but not on the UFC 300 card. Also it REALLY is starting to seem as if Leon is ducking Belal. Leon says Belal isn't a big draw, so what? he isn't either. He should just fight him and get it out of the way if he thinks Belal isn't worth his time.

Then maybe Dustin, stacked undercard all the way down, the card will be deep and good but just not what people had in their heads 300 would be. Part of that is timing of what fights can be made and other is is UFC doesnt give a shit what you want. This card will do well, Conor will fight in June, Jones/Stipe will happen, NYC show, end of year Dec show and they'll probably have biggest financial year ever.

Leon’s coach told Ariel they got the call to be on UFC 300. Shavkat is injured so Leon’s coach believes Belal will be the opponent though that has not been confirmed. Leon’s coach has not talked to Leon about UFC 300 yet, and is not sure Leon will want to fight in April. He says he’ll talk to Leon in about a week to get a feel for where Leon is at. When asked who Leon’s coach prefers, Leon’s coach replied Burns. He thinks Belal is not a big fight.

300 does make sense, though.

A regular PPV with Leon headlining isn’t going to sell super well.
Putting this fight as the 2nd or 3rd to last with a bunch of bangers or high profile fights means that the UFC can still have the WW title fight that makes the most sense for the rankings; but not have to grow away an entire PPV .
